Competition 12.805 @ 107.28 !!

Competition B1 with auto?

I agree, the dodge is to showy. the paint looks like a child finger painted it!!! but with a different paint job and a cummins, it would be awesome.

I too wished the boggers were a little harder compond when I got them, but the first time I got in the rocks, man did i appreciated the soft compound. they were amazing. I have since tried tsl radials, iroks, claws and now regular tsl's, and the boggers have all them beat, hands down.

When you took them on the rocks, did they loose any rubber or in other words did you end up tearing any of the lugs off or cutting the tire at all when spinning the tires on rocks or maybe doing donuts? I could just see chucks flying off the tires in certain rocky conditions when I spin the tires cuz of how soft the compund is. What is your experience?

The very outer edges of the tire lugs were slightly "tenderized", meaning many small cuts, but no I never tore alug off. I abused the crap out of them too. It was almost sicknening how much the tires would flex, lugs would look like they were gonna tear off, but they never did. I even "clearenced" the fender of my truck with these tires, meaning I did not use a sawzall, the tires clearenced themselves. I cannot even begin to say how awesome those tires were. I tried them backwards in the sand, and did not notice much difference (thinking they would be more like paddles). The one thing I noticed, is you need a lot of power to turn them. I seriously could go up hills (sandy) in 2wheel drive almos as easy as when I had the 35" bfg muds on it in 4 wheel. I also have lockers front and rear, and I think with open diffs they might not work to well. The tires dig like no tomorrow if you dont stay on top. Open diffs may let it peg leg to much, and bury opposing tires. I dunno. I do know they work awesome at 7-8psi. If there is traction to be had, they'll find it. The only drawback I could find, is they like to break parts!!! I actually broke my locker into a million pieces in my 14bolt with those tires, and had to go through the front end 4 or 5 times. They do also wear out ball joints and such, but you are not using them ont he street, so you should be ok there. and I believe you are running heims instead of tie rod ends, correct? that is probably good with these.

anyways, abuse the crap out them and they will take it. enjoy!!!

Yeah, I hear ya on the clearancing as my 37" tires did the same thing before I lifted the truck higher. Now I got plenty of clearance in the rear since I lifted it higher.

I did do the steering set-up completely different, here are some pics of that as well. I really like the heim design a lot better and at full lock it barely hits the diff cover. Thing si I can't get the drag link right, cuz first the link was too short and hitting the driver side lower control arm and now it is too long hitting the passenger side control arm at full lock. I think if I take about 1/2" to 1" off the end of the current drag link it will be just perfect.

Guess I am gonna tear 'em up and see what happens. Plenty of sand and mud up at Hungry Valley this weekend and it is supposed to rain Saturday too! :D Oo.

That looks like what I had in mind for mine, except I was going to try to put the tie rod on top of the knuckles for a little more clearence.

Is that a DT trac bar?

So how did the tires work out this weekend?

Yeah, I wanted to do the over the knuckle design as well, but my sway bar links on the coil bucket were cut off first to see if it would work, and I would have had to grind quite a bit off of the front of the coil bucket and that would weaken the hell out of the structure of it. It seems to work fine with the under the knuckle set-up.

Yes, it is a DT track bar. I welded it as well, since bolting it was not enough to keep the frame bracket from moving.

The tires worked great, especially on a couple of hills in 2WD! I thought I was in 4WD on a couple of them cuz the truck was just tearing up the hill and getting so much traction from the Boggers. They didn't even get cut up or wear down at all, I couldn't believe it! Some of the little rubber needle thingys on the lugs are still there. They are wearing a lot better than I thought they would. Oo. :D

I'll post up some pics tonite when I get home. :D

Ahh, I see what your sayin. I didnt even take the bucket into account. I had figured i could clear the diff cover better over the knuckle. oh well, maybe I'l do it like you did instead.

Glad you liked the tires. they are awesome!

Yeah, I went with the 1. 25" DOM tubing and it barley hits the diff cover at full lock to the driver side. Now I just need to shorten my drag link some so that the tires won't rub on the passenger side control arms.

LOL joe i meant to type "it's" jeff from PS.com Haha kinda threw me off there when ya replied with "yes sir he is". Take care bud

Gotcha, Jeff. Typos are a b!tch sometimes. :D

Are you using 1. 25" DOM on the drag link also? what thickness? Do you recall the length of your draglink (or better yet, the length you think will work best?)

Yes, I am using the same DOM for the drag link as well. I believe the wall is somewhere between 3/8" and 1/4". The ID of the tubing was . 625". The drag link length started at about 36. 25" and the one I am running now is about 37. 5". It works great but I have to watch how much I turn towards the passenger side or the tires hit the control arms. Too short and they hit the driver side control arms and obviously the opposite if the link is too long which is what is happening to me now. I think if I take about 1/2" or so off the current link, it will be just right. :D

What size tap and heim did you use? I ran your setup on my bronco and Oh My God was it strong. The difference was I used threaded inserts and 1" I. D. DOM for mine.

I also wanted to ask if your knuckles have the small bolts on the back side to prevent a full turning radius. I haven't looked at mine to see. I set the bolt on my bronco to clearance the springs with my 39's.

I'm going to swap over to heim links this spring. I had my Trac Bar 8 months before it died so I have the DT model on the way. The other tie rod ends are on their way out too whether they are firm or not.

I love your truck's setup. Good work on everything.

Biggy, I used an 11/16" drill bit and drilled the ends of the pipe to 3/4-16. I was thinking of using the inserts but I just prefered to tap the pipe itself. Just as strong IMO. Yes, it is VERY strong as I didn't need to run a steering stabilzer anymore and found out that I had so much slop in my stock TREs that they caused so much death wobble without a dual stabilizer set-up. The first time I took it for a spin I was so ready for some death wobble when I hit the first pot-hole with the new lift ans steering set-up but it never came and I still have a big :D on my face.

My knuckles don't have adjusting bolts on the for radius, but I plan on drilling and tapping them soon as the tire hits the control arm pretty good at full passenger side lock. For now I just count the wheel turns and try not to hit them.

O. K. Did you use the 5/8" ball on your heims? I was thinking about turning down a 1" bar stock to slide into a setup like I had before. I think maybe It would be overkill. And Dito on the death wobble. The 39's I had were regrooved and didn't so much as think about leading themselves with the new tie rods. It will come all in good time.

Biggy,

No, my heims are the 3/4" bore. They are the QA1 3/4-16, 3/4 bore. The static load is about 28K, so they should hold up fine in the steering dept. My track bar heim is the 3/4-16, 5/8 bore which has almost double the static load pressure @ 41K.
