Off Roading divorced t-case???

i use the edit (paint) when there in your stored pics. store it to jpeg and make sure its small enough.

just got mine home last night and wow!! thats fast. had to ride in grass for a few secs to try it but man touch the gas and skis lift just as fast!!

i was thinking that 25lb hemi would look good in it!!! :-laf (in the OTHER threads)

i just started some spring cleaning and found out the gas is clear, normaly that would be a good thing, but this one is PREMIX ONLY!!!! so i am going to tear it down and look at it this weekend :-{} hopefully it didnt hurt anything, the guy i bought it from swears that it was mixed but its not. oh well, worst it can do is cost me some more money.

well he said he used polaris VES oil, and i thought it was blue but i was just told it was brown, i am 98% sure its not but i am hoping for the best. i think that a crank seal or crank bearing went out of it because its blowing back out the #2 carb. its going in for a complete rebuild this weekend, and im sending out all the bottom end parts for that coating that keeps oil on the bearings, and the pistons and heads are getting ceramic coated.

ok, on a second note, that has the dragon ignition on it so it has a pyro probe in the exhaust. can i tap onto that lead for a pyro or should it be closer to the head? right now its in the center of the pipe. this things gonna be a runner next season Oo. thinking of investing in a boondocker system for it too

Here is a picture before i raised the bars. I run in the open and trail mod divisions. As soon as i can figure out how to post high res pictures i will get some of the current mod pictures up.

A crank seal or bearing wouldn't cause it to blow back. It'd burn down if it leaked. And you would definately know if a crank bearing went out. It's an expensive fix, I sunk our D&D last year waterskipping ( the driveshaft snapped) and it didn't get run enough to get the water out... it rusted... . ouch $700 later for a crank rebuild it was good to go. If I would have known it was going to be so much I'd have bought a 500 or 600 motor off of ebay, took the crank and sold the rest. A broken or cracked reed could cause blow back. It could also be rich, but it's normal to have a little blowback. I doubt you can use that probe unless you can get a gauge that goes off of the same values as that probe does. A lot of times even the length of the leads used on the pyro wires makes a difference. If you're going to get a pyro you may as well do both sides so you can monitor each cylinder individually.

ouch! that sucks. i just talked to my dad before i posted and he said it sounded like a crank seal, but that was what i was thinking with the reed pedals. it has that dragon button that makes it backfire and ive heard of that breaking them. im gonna pull it all apart this next week tdo see. i was kinda thinking that abouit the probe, there supposed to be x" from the cyl i thought. i sure hope its not a crank  reeds are expensive but a crank is worse.

if that motor is going south its tempting to get a 800 for it. but i will hope for the best.

what does it look like if you mix it with gas??? this might have a faint tint to it but i would swear it was straight gas. i will try and get a pic of the gas with our digital camera for you guys to see.

matt

has anyone heard of straightline performance? i was looking at thier site and decided to give them a call and they said for about $2000 i could have a complete 660 bigbore kit in it thats rated at 150+hp!! Oo.

http://www.straightlineperformance.com/polaris.htm

they call it thier 800 eater kit. they also have a 990 kit but i dont think that will fit in my 440 chassis :D i think the 660 kit with a 50hp shot of nos should keep up with my friends 06 600 dragon :-laf but this is only if it needs a total rebuild with new cyl and crank work. im not sure which one i want, the cheap stock or the 660

matt

i found it Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

it was the reeds one broke off.

now the bad part, the piece that broke is in the crank case. is that gonna kill it if i ride it for a bit, i want to get one more ride in this year before i tear it down.

matt

I thought it sounded like a reed... It won't hurt it a bit, I've broken quite a few, (on average one set a year... out of 4 sleds that isn't too bad I guess) it's pretty common with vforce reeds. It'll just burn it up and spit it out the exhaust if it hasn't already, no need to worry at all.

Corey

Also... It's REALLY hard to tell if it's mixed or not. In premium it looks just like regular gas. It depends on your race gas too, what color it is to start with, blue, clear, etc.

i am leaning towards its mixed now, he used a golden oil (ves) and it smells a bit mixed more so on the reeds. i am fixing the problem tomarrow for $50 (new reed pedals). where do you usually ride? in the deep powder? i want to get it out there next year but im scared if i go out i will move out there :-laf

at least i might make one more ride this year Oo. , then its the grass drags.

We go to West Yellowstone. Next year I think we'll try some new places... Cook City, maybe Steam Boat... . we've just kept going to west because we know so many places to go. A few buddies of ours hunt out there, so they know the land really well. As far as riding around here, I don't really too much, I maybe went on half a dozen rides max this winter, just been too busy. It's hard to enjoy a slow trail ride after racing for so long.

Corey

No trail riding out west :) Here is a friend from last week. He landed on that little pillow at the bottom and knocked himself out. Two black eyes and a busted hooter. A few minutes later another friend does it and lands in his hole and pitched him into a tree and ripped off the entire front suspension on one side. They were both filming for rathfilms.com

ouch!!!! i am not looking forward to doing that, just the fun painless stuff. powder riding in the open, i dont like trees.

well i got the new reeds in and running!!!! took the wife for a ride on it in the back yard today and she flipped when we were doing 60' wheelies on it. i think i scared her :-laf i will probably not give her this sled for her own sake, thinking about a 600 twin. this thing is a rocket Oo. the exhaust sound is awsome and response is great. i am going to grass drag my brother with a 03 800 edge x next weekend, i cant wait.

waitin for more snow
