ummm, that is wrong! injectors do not make life easier on the injector pump, they just direct more fuel into the combustion chamber rather than the fuel recovery galley in the head. Injectors do not affect VP44 duty cycle!
Diesel Freak,
If youre correct, then this has been a pretty big misconseption in the past, because one of the selling points for getting larger injectors has always been that they are easier on the pump (for daily drivers or towing).
It was my understanding that this was due to less on-time for the solonoid at the same fuel level, because the bigger or more nozzles, need less fueling duration for the same output.
Also, Id prefer to go with the bigger injectors, and avoid using the "pump-wire" type fueling box as much as possible, because they DO stress the pump, which is a known-weak spot, and is an expensive repair.
Thats one reason for selling the Blue-box, and have been considering the comp, for its de-fueling ability with the larger injectors, and for short spurts when "engaging with the enemy".
But now, with all of the reports of stuttering while running the comp, and ALOT of people have had to try multiple units to get their problems resolved (which some are still having the problem) , I have to question the RELIABILITY of the comp.
Think its better to keep it simple (KISS) and keep the VA, and boost module/elbow, and just go w/ dd2's minimum, or maybe even 3's. Keeping the pump wire clean of outside influences.
