Smokin', I haven't seen anywhere what year you have, but for what it's worth, I took my truck in for the cable recall in August of 2001. In July of 2002 one of the PLASTIC ball joints on the end of the throttle rod broke, leaving me stranded. I limped to another dealer a couple of miles away and had them replace the complete throttle rod because they don't sell just the ends to fit my old rod (because it's a safety recall, all they offer now are STEEL joints!). A month later I went back to the first dealer and asked if this shouldn't have been replaced with the recall parts. We pulled the same part number that they billed to my original work order and low and behold it comes complete with STEEL joints that they did not install. I finally got them to reimburse me for the emergency work I'd had done at the second dealer this past May. So, at least for the '95 auto 4X2, the recall "kit" comes with a new cable AND STEEL ball joints.
