..... these are ultimately vendor related warranty items HOWEVER, they should have been caught in a factory shake down and especially a pre-delivery check by the dealer. Just as an example; I had to wait an extra few minutes to take final delivery of my Ram because the dealer found the gear shift indicator was not properly aligned (and it wasn't off by much. . as I saw it beforehand!).

In all fairness, my '98. 5 Ram was one of the units randomly selected to go through the random quality check at the factory (with a sticker stating so on the drivers side window). I would have expected all deficient items to be sufficiently corrected prior to shipment to the dealer.

In my case Tom C, I was adament about purchasing a St. Louis made Ram (and would have passed on it if it had not been made there even if it meant losing my deposit)... and I still feel that way. I was lucky though, as all '98. 5 24v QC Rams were made in St. Louis.

NO El DorDodgeo for me thank you. #ad

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have had a problem ordering a PSD Super Duty at that time, knowing full well it could have/most likely been made in Canada. In fact, I support my neighbors to the North whenever I can!

My 3500 was born in the St. Louis plant. The paint was perfect. But I did have to have the driver door adjusted, tow mirrors, and the shift knob tighten. Ever thing eles seems fine. 3,000 miles

2001 3500 HO with all the yada yada yada.....

My truck also was randomly selected to go through the random quality check at the factory (with a sticker stating so on the drivers side window) it even had 36 miles on it. I do know at least that the person who inspected my truck needs to find another job. When you spend 35K on something you don't suspect to see such problems.

I guess it comes down to the luck of the draw. who knows. it helps to have a good dealership to work with such as hemipilot has.
