Wish I could have read this thread earlier..... I had same problem with my 5500 4x4 that was the double cardon joint coming out of transfer case. Couldn't feel any slop by hand when shaft was in place but when removed the problem was very evident. Cup and pin were worn due to no way to keep joint greased. I simply removed entire front driveshaft on the side of I-15, Ogden UT and drove home to KS vibration free! Took driveshaft to drive line shop and had new double cardon joint welded on that has needle grease zerk fitting. I can now keep this joint greased. Woo-Hoo!
