I think if you go back to the dealer and tell them that something has come up where you are most likely not going to be able to financially complete the purchase, and then see if you can get a refund of your deposit if you announce your plans to come back and purchase from them when your crisis is over, you might get some where. Only if they can use the vehicle in stock and if they practice any sort of customer service at all. You might be able to get even a partial refund. Its worth a try.

Work at getting the $1000 back like most here have already mentioned, then immediately call up your favourite Diesel performance dealer and order up $1000 worth of accessories. Guaranteed that will keep you having fun in your Cummins? If he does by the Ford doesn't that mean that he will still be part cummins, you know with Furd owning Cummings and all... ;)

Just my 2 cents, they are Canadian cents so only 1. 8 US.

I have a 2004. 5 2500 Cummins, and I have owned it for a little over a year. It is my first diesel and I fought it since the day I brought it home... I guess I convinced myself that I just don't like it... .

SO, I ordered a Ford V10 in March, as I wanted to go back to gas and I really want a manula transmission for towing... . the Ram has an automatic.

Anyway, I had not driven the Ram for a couple of months... it just sat there. We went camping last weekend and I realized that I don't want to get rid of the diesel... . it's really cool and a blast to drive... I must of had deisel fumes in my head or something...

DILEMMA - what do I do about the Ford I ordered? It I don't take it, I'll lose the $1000 down payment... it I do take it, I will be giving up my Ram... HELP>>>>

What would you do???? (I know, you would not have ordered a Ford in the first place... . but it is too late now)... .

HELP!! :{ :{ :{

The woman is 100% CORRECT!!!

Might have gotten lucky!!!!

I talked today to a guy on an RV forum that ordered a V10 Ford shortly after I ordered mine...

He was told last week that production on the 2006 Super Dutys ended already and the 2007 production was to begin on the 10th of April...

The dealer told him he could get a 2007 for the same price, but the $2500 rebate might have to be negotiable...

This could be my out... if Ford cannot honor the contract, I would assume I can get my $1000 back!!!

I already have about $1200 worth of "stuff" picked out for my Ram if the deal falls through... . Line-x, MBRP, AFE, and leather upholstery!!!

However, if the 2006 Super Duty just "shows up", I want to not take it but giving away $1000 would hurt. Ihave read all of your posts, and I do greatly appreciate all the responses... how the heck did I get myself into this???

I defer to the wife!!

You asked us "what would you do?"

Here's my thoughts: You recognize and admit you made the mistake of handing over $1000 to your Ford dealer. That is a fact and part of the past. You probably can't change that.

What you can change is the future. You can freely decide to lose the $1000 or trade your Dodge-Cummins for a Ford gasser. Which would you prefer to drive for the future and which will provide better benefit vs. cost?

Personally, I think a used Cummins will last longer and provide better service for your buck than a new Ford V10. Even with an additional $1000 added to the operating cost on the Dodge side I think the Dodge will be cheaper by far 100,000 miles into the future.

Only you can decide. It's actually a simple decision to make.

My uncle has a Dodge V-10 and now wishes he would have got a diesel. He get's 9 mpg with the wind pushing him down hill "empty"... The ford won't be or shouldn't be much different.

Yes I agree with your wife

Just go to your Ford dealer and tell the truth. I would not lie about this. We all make dumb mistakes just own up to It.
