MY03.5 just started having a Squeaking Issue at launch

OK, my MY03. 5 Quad Cab 4x4 long bed just turned 80,000 miles. The truck just started making a squeaking noise when I launch it. It doesn't matter if I launch in 1st or second gear.



I crawled underneath the truck, to determine if something wasn't quite right.



I was quite surprised to see a dark liquid coming out around the rubber boot at the back of the transfercase, to the drive shaft. There seemed to be a spray on the underside of the truck.



Has anyone had any issues like this?



Could this be causing the squeaking that I'm hearing when I launch?



Any idea on cost to repair?

Theres not really enough info to do a diagnosis, like does the frequency of the squeak ramp up with the vehicle speed until it goes away? A bad ujoint can squeak like that.

Nope, the squeak only occurs while the vehicle is a very low speeds during launch (Less than 5mph), then it goes away.

You have a ujoint seizing most likely... all of mine were bad by 72k... they started by squeeking at low speeds, then started vibrating badly at high speeds.

Sounds like a "U" joint that is vibrating and it has caused the seal to leak.
