getting stuff together, I am going to flush and refill the radiator this weekend along with changing out to a 180 thermostat. oil change and that usual stuff, also going to try the BHAF from Napa part #2790 from what I read on here. My big question is on new shocks, I have read alot on here about the bilstiens and the Rancho's and I have considered trying them but my uncle who I am staying with for a while uses the Napa reflex shocks and says he really likes them, they are a lifetime shock and the price to setup the whole truck is just over $150 which I thought was a fair price. Mostly I am wondering if anyone has used these and their impressions. My truck is a 99 3500 4x4 and I run empty more often than not lately, but do pull up to 20,000 at times. Any thoughts and comments are appreciated. Thanks... ... . Jon

I have a set of these for my wife's Ram (95 2wd CTD) sitting on the shelf at work, just haven't gotten around to putting them on. Supposed to be a good shock, not really an off road shock but a good daily driver shock.

What are the part numbers for the NAPA reflex shocks for the front and rears. I realize the part numbers could be alittle different due to the 3500 to 2500.

Part #

The part numbers are the same for the 3/4 or 1 ton but they are different between the 4x4 and 2wd. The 4x4 part numbers are:

911193 for the front

911192 for the back

Yep, those are the same #'s I was just about to put up. I put them on this weekend and so far am happy, we will see how they hold up over time. The one on the front drivers side was a pain to get changed. took some jacking up of the truck and careful moving of wires and hoses. when you get done double check your water/fuel seperator and make sure you didn't bump it open a little and risk pulling air into your fuel line. That is how I lost the prime and found out my lift pump was dead. Got it all running again today and am:D :D :D

Remember to really tighen the top and bottom of the rears and bottoms of the fronts, to prevent working on the bolts. SNOKING

Thanks

Thanks for the part numbers. Now I'm confused the NAPA dealer sold me 911103 and 911104. They said they were for the 3/4. They bolt up and ride really good. Did I get the wrong shocks? If so anything to worry about?

I'll have to check and see, I'll try and do it tomorrow but in the shock book there's a referance to gvw (8800 is the diesel 7 something is the gasser). I "diesel head" parts guy knows to just ask if it's a diesel or not and skip the whole "What's the gvw of the vehicle" hassle. I bet they sold you the gasser shocks. I'm sure they'd bolt up but probably not quite as heavy duty. They're a lifetime warranty shock (including customer satisfaction) so if they're the wrong one's they shouldn't give you any mess about replacing them.

Checked youre part numbers today pcarlson and as I suspected, they sold you the lighter duty shocks for the gasser 3/4 ton :( They might wind up being ok if it's riding alright but if it were me, I'd yank 'em and take 'em back and get the right ones.
