Has anyone interfaced a backup camera with the nav screen? I have found interface adapters for most other vehicles other than DCX makes.

It is as good as any of the other rear view after market systems I have seen. It is nice that the screen is so big and you don't have one more thing on your dash. My buddy has a MC with a rear view in the center mirror and the screen is so small it is hard to see compared to mine. The picture quality is ok. It could be the camera. It helps out a lot with a lifted truck. I have not put any tv input in yet. I am waiting for a video switcher so I can run video off of my Ipod video, Xbox and a dvd player. Have not been to exited about the project. Saving up for a turbo and lift pump for boating season.

You may want to try replacing the video cable from the camera. I changed out the cable to a shielded video cable - similar to one you would use for a VCR - and it made a significant improvement. Some of the wimpy cable that comes with the camera loses video quality. If you have a color camera and the picture is very washed out, almost black and white, the cable may be the culprit.

Awesome... I'm going to have my truck done so I can see my horses and make sure they're safe while we're rolling down the road.

More than once, I've wished I could see if they're standing after a large bump, sudden slowdown, etc. Many times I've had this concern after mashing the throttle. :) Just kidding!

I did the TVandNav2Go mod to my radio and couldn't be happier. I bought a CCD camera with infrared led's off of eBay and mounted it just under the bumper on a custom bracket I wired it to come on when the truck is placed in reverse using a relay. I also ran 2 wires so that in the future, I can just flip a switch and it will bypass the relay and I can take a look back there even when I'm not in reverse. This would be the way to go if you want to check on your horses.

After testing out the camera, I contacted the seller about the LED's not working. I thought they would light up, but they didn't. Turns out, you can't see the infrared light. They give the camera night vision and are not visible to the human eye. you learn something new every day!

Right on. I got a quote back from the folks at TVandNav2Go: $450. Not too bad. Will have it done when I feel like I part with my nav system for a few days, but waiting till warranty is up.

I owners manual for my nav system in my 07 tells me it was an option on some Chrysler vehicles. I read on here someplace that there is an extra cable on the back of the 07 radios does anyone know anything about this or should I contact Alpine?

I contacted Alpine and they were worthless unless you wanted help working the radio. Absolutely no help. From what I understand there is a difference in the radios used in the chrysler vehicles that have the camera option and the radios in our trucks. I removed my radio and there is no place to plug in a camera. I even called Mopar accessories and all they could tell me is that there is no backup camera available for the Ram trucks. No kidding!

I have an 07 with the REC gps/changer unit. If I get the hardwired mod done by tv/nav2go do you still see the black box module? How do you switch inputs from Ipod, backup cam, satelite, etc? Do you still use the "mode" button on the radio or do you have to flip a switch on the black box?

If you ever want to verify that infrared LED's are working, look at them through a camcorder. They show up as white light. Good for checking to see if TV remotes are emitting light also...

The 10mph restriction is part of the programming of the nav disc. There is a guy over on the Chrysler 300c and SRT8 forums that has a patch for it. It's called the nav hack and he doesn't sell the discs as that would be a copyright infringement. He will provide you a disc in exchange for a donation to his cause. Send him an email at marc@Edwards.net and ask what he would like you to donate in exchange for the updated disc. It will work just like the stock disc without the 10mph restriction. I have yet to get one, but I'm going to soon.

Would that also by-pass the stupid screen that comes up on startup asking if you will obey traffic signs?

Have you contacted him yet? What is the result?

I did contact him, and they are still available. I am waiting on the next version of the nav disc because as soon as I buy the current one, they will come out with the next one and I'll need to update that. This may not come out until next year, and there are no plans for a new disc according to him. I may just get one anyway since I have a long road trip coming up next month. I'll post an update if I decide to get one.

Not sure if it gets rid of the annoying "disclaimer" screen.
