Regen while in park?

Has anyone figured out how to disable the navigation systems requirement that you have to stop and put the truck in park before entering an address? As I tow a large 5th wheel camper quite frequently and always have a co-pilot, I've been in sticky situations where I needed the GPS immediately, but because of size, not been able to pull over. Thanks

I thought this was figured out to be a Canbus interlock, so it computer controlled????? There were a few threads about this somewhere folks went into details about the exact work around was not possible, then some folks found a place that reprograms the whole unit with different software.

Not having luck finding those.

I've all but given up on the VR for NAV. Works ok for music, fair for phone calls, but almost never for NAV. VR software pretty bad. I was Program Manager for one of first VR systems in the Air Force in mid 90s and early 2000s for automated med appt system that had approx 98% recognition rates, including dialects and accents. FCA must be way low. Honestly, the poor VR is one of my few complaints about my 2017 and 2019 Rams.

Cheers, Ron

The VR/nav in both my 2014 and 2016 trucks has worked great....but the phone side could be better.

could be they don't have Redneck Texan dialect worked out! Wasn't worth a two cents on our former Cadillac either.

Google maps plain and simple

Yep, I use smart phone when Nav can't find it. And I have Garmin with lifetime map updates in my Wrangler that doesn't miss a beat. :D
