Hi all. I need a fan & a fan drive bearing bracket for a first gen... ... .

I bought an engine the other day to convert my 72 W300 . The fan and fan bearing assembly was missing... . The starter was also gone also... If anyone has one that they do not need please let me know... I do not care if the bearing is good or not... I need the bracket the bearing presses into... . thx... ///Terry

I wont be able to help you out, but to clarify I believe there are 2 different bearing mounts for the fan... early non-cross flow radiator and later cross flow radiator fan mounts. Does it matter which one you get?

Alan are you sure? I'm the same boat with my 90 donor motor. I was just looking at a 94 Dodge Cummins and the mount had the same part number?? Bearing, fan, fan clutch I don't know.

Cummins QuickServe Online shows:

89 model fan mount P/N 3911660

this has a 8" fan centerline with a 49 mm horizontal offset

92 model fan mount P/N 3923004

this has an 9. 45" fan centerline with a 0. 0 mm horizontal offset

??????????

Well now I am confused..... the pictures may prove interesting... . I will look up the part #'s ... ... I plan on using the 91/2/3 side tank rad. so I guess that I will

be needing 91/2/3 parts. I had thought that all the 94 up motors had the offset and the 89 threw 93 had no offset... . I will do some research...

thx

I just looked up the part #'s . The book claims tha non intercooled uses 4429660 and the intercooled up to 93 uses 4761682

I do not have any info on the 94 up trucks..... I never had any interest in them... The first gen trucks are the only ones worth bothering with! LOL

The P/N's I posted earlier are Cummins; MysteryMan the #'s you have, come from Dodge?

Yep those two are definately different. The junkyard told me the 94 was a ReCon motor, so maybe ReCon used an early mount.

If the belts are all the same 89-93, right? Wouldn't you be able to use either fan mount? Or do clearances change with the IC'd radiator/core support?

With the offsets, does the fan just move closer to center between the two, and not OUT away from the engine?

Clearances change But I think just between the radiator/shroud, I'll have to do some checking on that.

I'm not sure if the in/out of the fan changes, I'll check.
