Need Advice!

I feel the need for a 2002 LWB but my wife doesn't. She says wait another two or three years, but I probably won't like the 2003. After 14 years of marriage she is tired of driving my hand-me down trucks. She thinks people will think she is a lesbian if she is driving my 01'. I say who cares. She wants a Mustang convertible, but I can't let her do it. Getting rid of my current CTD is not an option. Neither is divorce! How can I convince her of the merits of having two CTD's? Or should I give it up?

Unless she's driving a UPS truck or a Police Car, I doubt many will think she's wearing comfortable shoes .

Tell her my wife has been driving an '89 Dodge Dakota since it was new. That was some 2. 5 years before I ever met her. Face it women drive trucks for very practical reasons. My wife loves to sit in a parking lot (Sam's especially) and watch all the yuppie types cramming those huge boxes into those small cars, minivans, and sometimes even a full size van that doesn't cut the mustard. It can be quite amusing. Hers words are, "Thats why I drive a truck! I haul stuff instead of people. "



There has been a time or two when her eyes and pocketbook overloaded her Dakota. Thats when the Big Black Truck comes into play. No substitute for an 8 foot bed that never has to be made!

I just gave up. I was never going to convince my wife to buy another CTD. BUT, I did talk her out the Mercedes C-class that she wanted. We comprimised and bought a Durango. Nice machine(and a hell of a lot cheaper than that Mercedes).

Get beside a Mustang at a stoplight..... Dial the "box" to OMYGAWD" setting... ... then watch the Mustang dissappear in the rear view mirror.

Easy way out

The easiest thing to do is let her have the mustang. She hasn't tried to put you in a Mazda 626 has she? Youv'e got to let them have what they want if you're expecting a long and happy marrage, otherwise get a new truck and suffer.

She is comfortable driving a truck, just not a diesel. She currently drives a '91 GMC 4x4, which could be categorized as a girl truck. The problem is; I would rather get rid of the '91 than the '01 CTD. Seems sensible to me. We already have a '90 5. 0 Mustang, so I know they just aint practical for nothing but going fast.

Oh yeah... She doesn't like the QC Dakota OR the Durango. I know I can convince her, I just gotta work on it awhile.

I see a couple of interesting points here... .



1. You have a totally loaded, new truck with some cool additions, which probably means your wife is supportive of your "passion". That's cool.

Get her the Mustang and I guarantee you'll be able to BOMB your current truck into oblivion with the money you'll save on the Mustange vs. a new 02. Additionally, she will be so happy with this unselfish act on your part that you won't even have to use the "secret" credit card you've got hidden to cover bombs.



My wife is totally supportive of my addiction but she's very happy driving the 98 Honda Civic EX SHE got to pick out.

Yep, let her have the mustang. Why do you want 2 CTD's? 24V-DSL has it nailed. Besides mustangs are BOMBable. On those sunny days with the top down, who knows, you might even like driving it.

I had to buy the Wife a BMW after I traded in her Suburban for my Truck! Buy the wiffer any thing she wants that way you can have another 14 years of marriage! Tell her Women in truck look hot I love it when my wife drive my truck, I followed her last week when I took back the F150 rent-a-truck, you shoud of seen all the looks she was getting! Chicks look good in trucks even better in a Dodge!!
