Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Need Advise on 1st/Reverse band adjustment in my 47RE Automatic transmission Please

I'm in my transmission doing a shift kit and servicing while there. My truck is a 1998 12 valve diesel with a 47RE. My Dodge factory service manual says to back it off THREE turns for final setting on the First/Reverse band that is done with pan off, but other books I have say only TWO turns. Any suggestions from you transmission guys. I want it right. Thanks, Herb
