Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) need answers

i just bought up an 02 with 5 sp. the truck has 80000 miles and is bone stock. I have noticed recently i will take off and there is no power. The truck doesnt miss it just doesnt feel like it getting any fuel. I am planning on changing the fuel filter but i have no guages yet could this be a falty lift pump. Any suggestions will be appreciated. The motor is covered by dodge still right?

my 98 24v did this it was the map sensor. you might want to make sure that the truck is getting good boost check your clamps and make sure that the waste gate is not stuck .

lmills you have mail. Back to the dodge what r the symptoms of a weak vp44. i still think it a lift pump but the 24v is new to me

Have you checked your fuel pressure? The Vp44 will sometimes run even when the lift pump is dead. Plenty of guys have found that out the hard way. If you haven't checked your fuel pressure start there first. For a quick test gauge try to find a refrigeration hose with a schrader valve fitting on the end. Screw that end on the schrader valve on the fuel line, then the other end on a fuel pressure gauge. Or just figure on installing one permanently
