The owner of the muffler/exhaust shop that installed my 4" system has become a pretty good friend over the years. He asked me for some advice/help and I told him that TDR could give him all the answers he needs. ;) He is considering starting to install exhaust brakes on trucks, but has never had any experience with them. He was asking me how difficult it is to get into that line of installation, and what or how much specialized equipment it takes to do so. Anyone able to help me give him an answer?

The brakes that replace the exhaust elbow are a piece of cake to install. Just normal automotive hand tools needed. The only thing that really varies is the switch location and type to turn the system on. That also depends on where the customer wants the switch and how he wants it to look. Other than that it's just follow the instructions.

I have installed several of the cummins e brakes, and assisted on a few... even over the phone! They are as Joe says... easy, a bit time consuming, with the switch being the most difficult part.

I have not messed with any other brands.
