I am selling my f-250 as I type this... I want a dodge... but I have a few questions first... . I see that there is no locking hubs... can you put them on? Also... I have read the old posts about this pin that comes out... Are there any problems with these new motors that anyone knows about? What about the oil pan... is it metal? And do you have to pull the motor out to remove the Pan... . My ford is a nightmare to work on... . thanks in advance... . garth

Locking hubs would be hard to do. The stock Dodge system works well, is very positive. It's like the hubs are always locked, and you use the t-case to engage 4wd. Oil pan is fairly thick steel. You can remove it by pulling the trans and block adapter plate, maybe lift the engine a bit. Almost never has to happen on a Cummins. You aren't dealing with a Harvester any more. No more dowel pin worries in echo engines (2003-4).

Is it Plastic?

GOgle, your question about "is the oil pan made out of metal" What else would would an oil pan be made out of besides steel or aluminum?

GOgle mechanically compared to your Ford I don't think you can go wrong with a Cummins :D
