Need Car Hauled from Hot Spgs AR to ABQ

Hi all,

I am towing about 10K fairly steep grades and need more power. I sold my ufm so I only have DD2's and the HX35. I need more but do not want to tap the pump . Any suggestions for power while being egt safe for towing?

Marc

I'm running DD2's with a catcher and have been real pleased with the towing performance. Good power without any heat problems. I tow between 10k and 15k up and down the mountain passes and have never had to back out of it because of high EGT's. My only complaint has been the sensitivity of the gas pedal at slow speeds on dirt roads but I think the new smarty doesn't have that issue. No need to tap the pump either. AC

I would vote for a Smarty... but not sure if the automatic will hold up to it though? My HO truck put down 700 RWTQ with just Catcher/Smarty and RV275s!

what is UFM ?

Would you happen to have the Dyno Sheet on this, I would love to see what it looks like ;)

Sure it is here. It says 680 lb ft but they were using a . 97 correction factor . I am a little opposed to this "better than ideal" conditions or whatever so to get it back to 1. 0 I did 680 / . 97 = 700. I think that's how it works.

Correct me if I am wrong here but, an HO with 275's and a catcher should be more than 285 rhwp shouldn't it? Not tryin to start up an arguement or anything, just curious.

I think that will be about right, but not having dynoe'd in a couple of years I would just be guessing. What I do know is with the Smarty loaded up on #8 and the Edg-Comp turned up to #3, the truck is no longer just quick, it is now just sudden :D It will suprise the unwary when I decide to match speed for a merge or pass on an good steep uphill climb :D Really P. O. s the Chevy and Ford guys when I do that on the hills in the steepest part :)
