Hi guys,

I am looking for an old dead first gen intercooler. I don't want a good one as they are in short supply these days. In fact, all I need is the ends. I don't care if the center is cut out or gone.

I have another crazy idea and it requires some parts from the end caps.

Thank you

Dave

Where the heck were you at about three months ago? I HAD exactly what you need and wound up pitching it in the dumpster 'cause I got tired of moving it around the garage. :( :{

Hey wait a minute, I'm not "on the bum". I just have a little idea that I think will help with EGT control and a more ballanced intake flow to the cylinders. Plus, if it works as well as I think it will, cooler air from a stock (kinda) intercooler.

And as far as me being gone, well, my new job takes up a LOT of my time. It is the reason I put a hold on porting work for a while.

But in a month or so I will be back,, then you can pick on me :{

What I am building is a little hard to explain. So what I will do is take pics and post them. Guys with twins should really like it but if it works as well as I HOPE it will, well, even if it don't work, it should look cool :eek:

Well actually, it is air/air, but in this case the cooler will have a single inlet with dual outlets. Think about it, what causes heat in air? compression. Well my thoughts are if one can releave some of the compression needed to remove the air from the innercooler it will have a tendency to stay cooler. Right? Or am I taking too many drugs?

Besides, having dual stainless inlet tubes running up to the intake manifold will be a lot cooler looking than the single stock one.

All I need is one end to make this work.

Dave

Yes, I have seen that thread. But what I am building will have dual outlets from the innercooler itself. I am trying to get rid of the heat generated, plus the back pressure from re-compressing the air charge to exit the innercooler through one tube.
