Hoping someone can provide any information and opinions on a truck I found on a local carlot.
I been looking at a 2002 4wd, extended cab, long bed with the HO option. The truck has 74k miles on it. I took the truck home and drove it over the course of an afternoon and put about 90 miles on it. The truck has an Edge EZ installed and the previous owner says that was the only thing done to the truck. It has a lot of power and excellerates quickly so I wonder what else could have been done or if that much power can come from an Edge EZ. The truck is at a local dodge dealership and I think they have had it for a while. I hooked up a pressure gauge to the fuel pump knowing of the inherent lift pump problems with these truck (my dad has a 2001 3500 and on his second lift pump), I got 14 psi at idle. Other glaring thing I found wrong was the AC system was half empty of refrigerant, which they have since fixed. For it's age, the truck does have a lot of miles on it. It also appears to have orignally had heated power mirrors, but now has the flip out towing mirrors. There is a hida-a-ball goosneck plate in the bed and I see evidence of a brake control installation so it was used for pulling. Is there anything else I should be on the lookout for with the truck? My next trip there I am going to flip the ignition switch three times and check for codes.
Currently I got them down to $21k plus tax for the truck. Good deal or no? Bank told me loan value on the truck was $25 but I wanted to hear more opinions that just a bank since they are always willing to make a buck
Thanks!
