Whats the procedure to check the performance of a 6speed truck? I remember something about rolling at 40 in 5th then seeing how fast it could get to 60 but I'm not sure. I can't remember the numbers and can't find the post. #ad

I need to figure out why my 01 has lost 3 lbs of boost-

Help is always appreciated- Zach.

Zack, my numbers don't compare to your setup (see sig), but last time I checked my 0-60 times were 5. 0 to 5. 5 seconds. That is rolling along at a steady 40mph in 5th and then tromping it. 0-60 times were 10. 0 to 10. 5 seconds. This is with RV injectors & misc. other mods, running 21 psi boost (no boost module).

I think Dave Fritz' site has D/C's Low Power specs but they are a little pathetic. . . your truck would have to be a sick stocker to flunk #ad

<font color=blue>Think ya mistyped a number there Vaughn, 0 to 60 in 5. 0 to 5. 5 seconds is a bit fast hehe. If it wasn;t a typo then um send me some of the fuel your using please #ad

Hey Dune,

I know you've checked your hoses and such already, but have you looked at the gaskets that go between the aluminum intake horn/manifold heater/intake manifold? Those have been known to have a tendancy of ripping or getting blown out.

The only other thing to do might be to take it to a diesel shop and have them pressureize the intake system to see if there is a leak.

Prior to installing the VA, my truck did 50 to 75 mph in 6th gear in about 15 seconds. I have the 3. 54 rear; single not dually, and a little bit of load (camper shell, other toys in back). Also, RE-880 filter, but I doubt that really makes much difference time-wise.

Don't forget - maybe you've lost boost, but, the gauge could also be reading low. Keep that in mind if you don't find anything else.

Thanks Mike, thats something I have not checked yet. I'm going to test that and some other things today, if I can't come up with anything then it looks like I'll have to take it in.

My 0-60 times, stock, were in the 13 sec's.
After adding the power Edge 'EZ box' my times were consistantly 10. 5 to 12. 0 sec.
After adding the boost elbow that increased boost from 19 to 24 my 0-60 times went to 11 flat. But today, I did a run and it was 12. My truck felt slower all day. Does the ECM relearn something and reflash the ECM to stock?
