Larry, A 1988 JD 900HC, high clearance offset row crop row tractor for work. No manufactor has made this type of tractor since '90, used is the only way to go. Did a search on JDs website and found 4 of them, this one is the cheapest, closest and in best shape, only 830 hours. How much should I expect to pay to have it moved?

Gee, I don't know. I usually only deal with 40' cans. I'm taking a wag here and guessing about $1. 50/mi for a full semi. You should be able to ship LTL flatbed for less though. I don't know what the HotShots charge. Your probably doing the right thing posting here. There were a few HotShoters on this site weren't there? I can't remember the one guys name who used to post here. Maybe try a search for "hot shot".

Sorry, no real help whatsoever. :(

I am a Hot Shot driver, and I would say you should expect to pay $1. 40- 1. 75 per mile. I mostly run East coast, so I am not sure what it would be out west.

illflem,

I have a good friend from the Dakotas who currently lives in California and has a lot of relatives in Montana. When I saw your post I called him and asked if he was going to Montana anytime soon. He said he might be interested in towing your tractor back and seeing some relatives over the holidays.

He is a fellow CTD owner and works for the film industry as a fabricator and does custom camera mounts on cars. He also has a class C license and drives big car transports for the film industry. He grew up on a farm and knows tractors, and is an excellent mechanic. He recently rebuilt two old Ford tractors. He has a custom car trailer that he built (used to haul cars for the film industry) which he could use to haul the tractor. He also would be a good guy to check out the tractor before it is hauled to make sure everything is OK with it.

I know you could work something out with him for less than the prices previously mentioned. If you are interested, e-mail me and I will hook you up with him. Happy Holidays.

How bout if we attack this job as a team. :) I'm suggesting a relay. If someone can get it to Bishop, Ca, I'll pick it up & get it to Winnemuca or Elko, Nv. :D Sat or Sun is best. ;)

Thanks guys but the deal won't be final until late Jan. The relay idea sounds cool, I'd be willing to do the last leg from Salt Lake City. It's pretty much a straight shot up I -15 from San Diego to Montana.

Bill, if the relay deal comes to play let me know and I would do all of Wyoming,I have all of my family in the sw corner , I would'nt be to fond of salt lake (too many people for me ) but keep me in mind for Wyoming:) Kevin

Relay might work

Bill, keep us posted. I could probably get it to Stateline(Cal/Nev border) or even Vegas:D if maybe someone else from San Diego could get it to San Bernardino.

move tractor

Hi Bill,

My friend could still move your tractor at a later date. His work schedule is very intermittent as the film industry can be on again, off again. His brother lives only about 100 miles from Hamilton so it would be pretty convienent for him on your end.

If things work out for you and you need his help, let me know and I will hook you guys up.

Happy Holidays,

Bob
