Trailer Connection Plug

5th wheel landing gear repair

We just purchased a used 2004 KZ Frontier travel Trailer. The previous owner had a blow-out with one of the left side tires, and while towing it home, from Arizona to Colorado, I had a blow-out on the right side. Naturally the tires tore off the fender flares.
I've noticed many trailers on the road with part or all of the flares missing, I'm assuming from the same cause. I've been pricing replacement flares, and the they seem to run in the $150.00 each range. Most I've looked at are plastic, and I'm concerned that they will be prone to breakage as easily as the O.E.M. parts. Either from another tire failure, or road debris, etc.
Does anyone know of some sort of universal skirt preferably made of some rubber or other flexible material that might last longer? I'm thinking something that might be bought in bulk length, and cut to fit and formed around the wheel openings.

First thing to do is get rid of ST tires and put LT tires on it, or you will continue to be replacing them. Does it have 15" or 16" rims? SNOKING

Thanks for the tip, but I'm ahead of you with that. Tires are already upgraded, from 205/70-15 Bias ply to 205/75R-15 (L/R -D) with new 15"/6" wheels as well. Had car tires on 15"/5" wheels. Still need fenders though.

Jack,

There is a rubber fender extension that is used on trucks when wider tires are placed on the steer axle. Nice material and sold by the foot. Will try to get you a picture tomorrow, I know that I have some on hand. If I get time tonight I will try to find you a link to it.

Mike.
