Need very small riding mower.

I am going to need a new riding mower. I went by Wal-mart today and the smallest unit they offer is a 12. 5 horse.

What happened to the days when an 8 horse was considered large?I will soon be 43 years old and can remember when it was common to see 5 horse riding mowers. I can even remember once seeing a 4 horse unit.

What is still being produced that is 8 horse or smaller?I do most of my mowing with a finish mower and will need a small rider to do trim work. If you have personal experence with what I am interested in plaese let me know. Thanks in advance.
