Ebay Dually for 45,000

This is how I go in for warranty work

No real changes to report at 2,000 miles. Low r. p. m performance is still weak below 1,700 r. p. m and nonexistent below 1,500. There is talk at the Ford page about curing with a reflash but sometimes it is at the cost of mileage. I believe I'll just live with it until I think they have the ultimate reflash out. Above 2,000 r. p. m the performance is very very good but I'm not used to driving a diesel like a gasser to get the engine room to respond to the bells. Mileage remains in the 16-17 m. p. g range with 90% of my driving done at 75 m. p. h on open two lane highways using cruise control alot. Not bad considering the truck is now fully equipped and weighs 9,820 lbs. Had the first service today at 2,000 miles to get the break-in shavings out . As there is no other source for filters at this time it is really expensive to have serviced. Oil filters are $47. 00 and air filters are $100. 00. Fit and finish continues to impress me, no better than my Dodge but every bit as good. The top mounted oil filter is sweet!. I can't think of anything to add but I will check this forum regularly for awhile in case there are any questions or feel free to P. M me

Sageair:

Thanks for another report. I don't have any questions. I'm not interested in owning one but I enjoy reading about the competition.

Sageair,

Hope everything is well, haven't heard from ya in a long while. Was wondering if there is going to be a #4 report.

I must say that when I worked for FoMoCo in the 90's Fit'n'Finish was Lackluster for a while when the new changeover took place after the 1995 model year. Now it seems QC has changed its course and is making a difference. Good to hear from ya Sage!

I passed a 6. 0 this afternoon. It was a brand new tow truck. I rolled down the window next to him in city traffic and could not hear it at all over mine.

I will report however that I did stop by the Local Ford and checked out 5 new PSD's with a flashlight. Not one had the leaky bell housing. The best excuse for that over there (Ford site)is "well... um... all cars leak and this can be expected in anything mechanical such as a diesel... its perfectly normal".

After glancing at the sticker prices of them, I totally understand why some there are so angry about 1 drop of oil. $42,000 and I think it should make its own oil!!!

I went to the Ford dealer here in Cheyenne on Sunday to check for oil leaks. 7 out of 23 trucks in the lots were leaking. Some a little bit and others alot. These trucks had sticker prices between $40K and $49K. At these prices the truck shouldn't leak until doomsday. :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf

Paid about 26k for mine in 98, and the only oil its dripped is the oil I spilled (okay I got one drip from the breather hose that I know of).
