We saw up close a truck load of new 2009 1500s yesterday. All had rear sway bars, coil springs front & back, all same colour. Dark red. Extremely pretty truck. Very pretty front end. All dual exhaust. :-laf

I checked them out on the Dodge website. I agree, very good looking. Are they splitting the 1500 line from the 2500/3500 line as far as styling goes? Or is the 2500/3500 going to have that style in the future? I would have to say, it's one of the best looking trucks I've seen.

I drove several today

Went to PIR, west end of Phoenix for the Ram Challenge. Pretty nice lil' 1/2 ton trucks, can't wait to see how much will carry over to the 3500's. Where were all you PHX people at??? :p

WKruger, I would love to have the console shift on a Heavy Duty! It really looks great! Practical? Who cares. It looks great!

5.0L Diesel

I read yesterday on one of the auto review websites, that the speculation is for a 1500 5. 0L diesel for 2010. I guess the A/C tag under the hood references the 5. 7 hemi, 6. 7 CTD and 5. 0 TD. Maybe this is a sign as they suggest or it is just a diesel that is already in Europe.

I don't know who is going to buy one these days... The sticker prices shoked me high 30's low 40's thousands. Why would someone spend that much for a 1500?

How about a FLOOR SHIFT? With a CLUTCH pedal?! Will the diesel have a manual transmission available?

Specs show a Getrag 238 6-speed manual as standard on 3. 7-Liter V-6. I haven't seen one yet. 4. 7 and 5. 7 V-8s all get the 545RFE auto. They're not talking about the diesel trans. It'll probably be auto...

Ridiculous. I saw a 2wd Laramie 4-door on the lot with a $45k sticker. Crazy.

I guess that's what they have to do to offer the equally crazy rebates to move them off the lot!

people will buy it because they want a soft riding truck(car like ride) where lets face it our trucks aren't as soft as a halfton truch can be. I'm fine with the ride but others hate it. plus it should drive better and hopefully get better mileage .

Console shift comes with the optional bucket seats (along with the rest of the center console). If you opt for the 40/20/40 split bench, you get a column shifter.

So whats the deal? Are they going to release the diesel this year or what? My wife is looking for a new ride to replace the Jeep and I would like to get her into something with good fuel mileage and still be practical for day to day driving and stuff. Seems like a half ton diesel would be just the ticket. Throw a cap on the back and you have a great looking truck that will work for the wife with all of her errands and keep her out of my Mega Cab. Scotty

No way, man. The company line has always been "after 2009". Doubt it will happen any faster, if at all, with what's going on.
