Harvey, congrads! Fine looking rig you've got there. I've heard that white is the Texas color for trucks, from friends of mine there.

Speaking of Big Tex, I'm about to order a 30' 25GN gooseneck from them & I intend to drive down to east TX and pick it up later this spring. I will see if they have any beds in stock at the Mt. Pleasant location.

Yes, they have beds in stock and have a installation shop that installs beds and about anything else related to trailers.

Thanks, Cumminz. White is the only color to have in hot, dry west Texas and it continues to look clean for weeks unless it is driven in the rain.

Ken Lauber asked me yesterday to post a photo of my truck. I'm posting this just to bring the old thread and photos up again.

Wish I'd seen that bed for my C&C. Fancy!! FYI--

I have 15k on my C&C flatbet with 4. 10 gears, automatic. This past weekend I had my first opportunity to take it on the road empty. 632 miles across Ill, Indiana and Ky with only 5 miles city driving. 75mph all the way except in construction zones. The rpm were just over 2,000. overhead console said I got 15. 2 mph. Calculation showed I actually got 14. 2 . Hauling a loaded 13k gooseneck horse trailer, I get 9. 9.

Just wondered how yours did on mileage, since our trucks are nearly identical.

I have never hand calculated the fuel mileage on this truck. I might happen to glance at the elapsed miles and fuel receipt at the same time and do a quick calculation in my head but based on the overhead I'm probably getting a little better results when unloaded but only because mine has about 74,000 miles on the odometer now. Yours will slowly improve a little but these new ISB6. 7s loaded down with emissions crap simply aren't going to do as well as the old 12 valve or 24 valve 5. 9s.
