Good day all

Question on how much oil to add to system. Replaced "everything", lines, evaporator, condenser, dryer, switches, compressor (DENSO).
Compressor has oil in it. Have read to add 1 oz. each for evaporator, cond and dryer. Is this correct.

Also since the system is completely new and needs a system "vacuum and charge" can I just wait and tell the AC shop to add the
oil?? Would pulling a vacuum not get a lot of the oil I just put in, out??? Hmmm - should trust them with this

thanks

Yes the shop should have all the necessary information on hand to make a proper fill including the oil - it is their job to know that.

If the compressor has oil in it - it's generally a full system charge with no additional oil necessary. Double check the info on the compressor to verify this. (Most compressors ship dry.)

You are referring to the replace 1 component only 'make up oil' situation that doesn't apply to this situation.

Vacuum procedures will not pull oil out of the system.

Curious as to why replacing everything?

Thanks for notes..

Got to my laptop for PDF manual.. It says total system fill 180cc. Accumulator 2oz, condenser 1oz, evap. 2oz, guess that leaves +1 oz. Denso has 210 cc in it lol (SP-15 = PAG 100).

Why new everything?? Cause I pulled the HVAC and replaced all 4 blend doors with metal ones, new evap and heater core while I was in here. New blower motor and resister. Sealed up the HVAC unit to my liking. Put much better sealing foam rubber on the HAVC unit that kisses the dash vents and outside vent. There was a gap between the blower motor and the round plastic circle piece that sits
on top if it (blower air could blow into the void), not anymore.

Compressor had bad seal (not blown up ) lol.. That's what started all this.

Well you know the rest - needed new accumulator and condenser that had some issues with fins so I decided to get a new one. Gee at this point only thing left was the orifice tube and the other line. decided to get both. The pressure switch on compressor, of course I got a new one..

2004 with 220,000 miles so now I have a new AC system in South Taxes. 2 SPAL fans coming soon as well.

So maybe $550 in parts but its a "brand spanking new complete AC system".. They would have charged me that much to change out compressor and line lol. :-laf
* not counting the heater treater stuff. But I had that stuff laying around for 2 years...

PS: Still have original injectors (well until I decided last month to change all of them out.) Had one checked out an the shop blinked their eys and said it say well within specs.. Said I must
be a lucky guy lol.. No I run Loves truck stop B 10/20 blend as often as I can. Never did the 2 micron filter setup or did/do I put any other additives in fuel!
