Anyone use the Bosch 210 hp injectors, smoke? supposed to be 50 hp, DPP has them at a good price, what does anyone think about these injectors? Another member told me the Bosch 190's were the injectors I was looking for, I am wanting just alittle more than stock but not crazy, Fuel prices #1, #2 I want to pull with them and leave my stock turbo and pump, any thoughts?

Mark at PDR told me that 190's are smaller than stock, BUT- have more power and are more fuel efficient. Better quality, more holes but smaller. This was for my '92.

So did you try the 190's? Did you like them? I am thinking really hard on the 210's, I can get them for next to nothing, I just dont want to have a problem with emissions testing and hurt my mileage much, plus its my back up truck and if I need to pull a trailer with it I need to be able to do that without EGT's souring thru the roof.

Diesel Performance Parts here in Nashville,TN has the Bosch 210's, good friend of mine can get me a great price on them. No I pull 18' open trailer with ladder rack installed and a '16 cargo trailer thats heavily loaded with all my Homebuilding tools, I know my new open trailer loaded with all my laddders and materials in the area of 12,500 Loaded. So thats why I was worring about 50 hp injectors making me too hot, but like I say my '92 is just a back up truck for my '03, mainly my knocking around wheels, I drive it everywhere.

I didn't try the 190's. I was going to go straight to PODs. After I turned in my fuel screw, when I saw how much smoke I had with the stockers, I decided I needed a bigger turbo 1st. You could put in a valet switch to shut off the AFC, and save fuel. I did, mine works great. $22 for a solenoid from Graingers.

Well I have decided to buy the 210's so I may get you to send me a schematic of how you wired that and a Grainger part#, If you dont mind.

I can do that, I will take some pics also of the valve mounting. It is an easy job. Let us know how the 210's work, more power! ;)

Hotram, the Grainger part # is 6JJ52, valve,solenoid,1/8 in. $24. 50 I just ran a wire from a keyed hot to a switch, then to the valve. The ground I ran to the injector line clamp. I used the original AFC line and fitting from the intake, spun it 180* on the banjo to the valve. Mounted the valve with a small bracket to the AFC cover screw. I used 1/4 inch hose with pushlok fittings from head to valve. I took some pics, they came out good, but I am having some trouble loading them to the site. Hopefully tomorrow!

I went over to Grangiers to buy the solenoid but you have to be a "member" to buy there. . Were else can one buy this solenoid valve?.....

Find a friend with a company. Just use the company name; Hi, I'm Chris with Joe's garage, or I work for Smith plumbing and heating, naw, I'll pay for it today. The company I work for has an account, I just pay cash using their name.

PICS IN THE NEXT POST (I hope!)

Okay, 1st pic is from the top (duh!) It's been a long day. 2nd is from the rear by the MC.

And the pics are too big. :{ I'll try to figure out how to resize these and post tomorrow.

Thanks Philip! ;) Those are awesome, I couldn't get them down and neither could the wife (she's the 'puter wizard).

The exhaust port on the valve is towards the front. The feed is a plastic 1/4 hose with pushlok fittings, 1/8 pipe, 90*.

In the 2nd pic you can see the line off the intake also!

Thanks guys, This is on the "must do" list (just in case I actually let my 16 year old drive the truck) :). Actually I am going to try to eek out what mileage I can get like everyone else. By the time I am done with the truck I won't be able to afford fuel :(

Thats a good question and one I cannot answer.

A local fellow brought a truck to me and was pretty durn upset with it's LACK of performance. I found the steel boost signal line was broken off. He had 9 psi MAX boost even with a manual transmission. :(

I know a few guys have installed this and I have read Pastor Bob's explanation but I simply don't get it.

I'm going to remove the turbo from my 90 and see how it behaves... ..... :-laf
