Phillip, in your pics, is that some type of down home engineered throttle linkage set up?

 Don't remember my 93 having a nut in the linkage like that!

Thats not a pic of my throttle linkage. It is PToombs.

That isn't OEM. I didn't even catch it. I just resized the pic's and posted them for him.

So Pete, whats up with the linkage mods, making up for a stretched cable or something? And, what is the advantage of the AFC solenoid thingie? Just cutting off fuel to increase mileage or.....

Ya know, I wondered if anyone was gonna catch that! :)

Linkage; you know those cheap plastic rod ends that pop off when you stomp on it? What you are lookin' at is 2 heim joints from a 2nd gen shutoff solenoid (knew those trucks were good for something!). 2 fine threaded bolts with a nut for a spacer. No play, no popping off, solid throttle response!

Valet switch; cuts boost to the AFC, so it doesn't super fuel. When I shift it still smokes but not as much, and when I step on it it cuts smoke by 50%. The truck still pulls good, better than stock. If you want to play, flip the switch. On a stock truck, I think it would be a dog.

I played with a 3G on the way home from work today, flip the switch, and away we went! :D

Sounds like a lot of work to make up for brain to foot coordination.

I suppose if you lend your truck out a lot it would prevent someone from using lots of power ... until they said "hey WTF does this here switch do? DAMN!".

Ok, let's just be straight-up about it. Anytime you have an in-cab switch that increases power, it's just plain cool! :D

But it's an in cab switch that DEcreases power.

I don't really care how much fuel I burn  I just felt bad for the poor schmucks behind me who couldn't breath after I went by! :D

Not if it's turned off! ;)

Seriously though, I know what you're saying. It does seem kinda useless for most people, but if you had to loan your truck out to your 16yo son I bet you would want one! :-laf

I feel that it helps me because I have the family deformity; the right leg is 2 inches longer than the left. Oo.

The cops had to put up a road block once on the highway to catch my mother. Then there was the time with the '77 merc couger that she thought she stuck the speedo off the end. She was trying to figure out how to explain it to 2 teenage sons!

Not just a switch, but a Key Switch.
