Pulling Heavy

FR Cedar Creek review and quality

I can't believe your weight ticket for the Champagne, Cedar Creek with a washer and dryer plus everything else in the trailer, that seems low for the weight of the combo. My 34RL Hathaway Cedar Creek with truck the combo weight is 21,020 LB's and this has no washer/dryer in the trailer. Although we were loaded up for a week of travel with 2 adults plus my 2 grandkids in the truck when I scaled the truck and trailer. I am going to have to rescale my trailer and truck on our next trip to recheck the weight.

Here are my weights with a 39'4" Bighorn, 2015 RAM Laramie 4x4 CC SB. No Washer and dryer. I think he needs to load it up a little more yet.

Steer 5120
Drive 6620
Truck 11740
Trailer 12780
Total 24520

What with TDR and the hot links showing up for "Cedar Creek" and "Wheel". Maybe it is chrome browser on my computer? SNOKING

My Champagne was not loaded when I scaled it. It was on it's way home from dealer new. We have started loading it now and in a couple weeks we will be taking it back to Tom Johnson for them to add generator.

Curious where you guys park these large 5th wheels. I just completed a 14,000+ mile trip with a TC pulling a small cargo trailer. There's no way they would fit in most state or fed parks. Most RV parks also have a length restriction. Just curious as we were thinking about a 5th wheel to leave in Seattle area and travel in the winter.

I have stayed in COE parks and in some other Federal campgrounds like Trailer Village at The Grand Canyon AZ. But for the most part we tend to stay at private campgrounds. My wife and I both like the idea of level concrete pads with full-hook ups with 50 AMP service. Another issue to consider when choosing a site are the overhanging tree branches and limbs with the damage they can cause to a tall 5er in state parks. My 5er with the second AC is 13'6' tall.

Very nice trailer. A good friend of mine bought a Champagne model in Jun and it's awesome. Very well built and no problems so far. These big trailers are great for taking extended trips. We spent 5 weeks on the road hitting national parks in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, California, and New Mexico. Next trip we'll hit Yellowstone, Yosemite and parks in the Northwest. Have fun in your new rig. Ron

This summer we were gone for 90 days and 14,000 miles out west and across the top of the USA. NC to Georgia, Destin, LA., Dallas, NM, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Yellowstone, Glacier, WY, SD, Wisconsin, UP, Canada, Indiana, Niagara, 3 Mile Island, Hersey, Virginia, NC mtns. And all this time stayed in 23 RV parks with malfuctioning jacking system, slides that did not work right and the list goes on.

Came is west side from St. Paul thru Eau Clair to a friends home for a couple days close to Irma. Went from there into the UP.

If you took the 29 east from Eau Claire to the 51 north out of Wausau to Irma, you weren’t too far from me. I live 10 minutes south of Wausau.
