Only issue I have with these is that the arm is so long the mirrors actually look towards the truck instead of down the side, so I pulled the arms nearer to the truck and readjusted the glass mirror and it seems a little better now.

I had the same problem and I now have been told the fix.

I just had a conversation with the maker of the mirrors Thursday about sending me my new set and he mentioned that some of the distributors that are selling and installing the mirrors have had good luck with putting a spacer behind the front mounting stud to cant the passenger mirror more toward the window. He said this will help with being able to locat the rear of the truck more easiely.

Basically that's what I did too, don't know how long it will stay in that position though, I noticed it first when I was driving, I could see the lane next to me on the drivers side, but I could only see my lane behind me on the passenger side. But so far it's only been a day so I still have to find the perfect set up for me. Man that company IS fast, day and a half to Hawaii.

Boy do these look great!

My only real concern now is being too wide for normal driving around. Obviously the extend, but it also looks like they stick out a considerable amount at all times.

I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too...

Vision View mirrors

I just finished installing a set of their #1200 heated electric towing mirrors on my '95. Here are my observations thus far.

Installation: Straight-forward. I removed the door panels completely and, of course, broke several mounting pins. Removed the stock mirror, and bolted on the new one. A second set of hands would be helpful, but it's really not too bad. Wiring wasn't completely plug in for my application, but that's because I'm adding leads for heat, which I didn't have from the factory. The biggest pain was fishing wires thru the rubber boot that goes from the door to the jam. I haven't powered the heat function yet. That'll get done when I wire the e-brake and mystery switch.

Fit: Good, except for the problem mentioned in an earlier post about the position of the passenger's side mirror. With the mirror turned the whole way in, I had to have the seat clear back and my head back against the glass to see straight back thru the mirror. Unacceptable! I then added several spacers to the front bolt (as per someone's earlier post) and that was enough to change the view angle.

Quality: I have a problem here. Although they seem to be solidly built(for a 'Made in China' product), and didn't seem to vibrate much while on some test runs, I thought I should be able to see more clearly. When I held the stock mirror alongside the new one I finally realized what was happening. The new glass is distorted. It's like looking in a fun house mirror! No wonder cleaning my glasses didn't help!!

I'll be calling Vision View tomorrow to see where to go from here. Maybe I just got a bad one, but it's frustrating. $375 should buy better than this. :(

I'll let you know how I make out.

Yup, I'm kinda in between on my judgement of these, they look good, see decent when positioned correctly according to the driver, but you can deffinately tell that you lost a good chunk of flat mirror glass compared to the oem tow mirrors (that I still have standing by should I decide that these are useless). So far I'm okay with them the way I adjusted it. I pushed both side flat glass mirrors all the way out then moved the arm assembly in til I saw down the side of the truck, this gave the best "see straight back" view, instead of the "look towards the truck "view, BUT this presented another problem, by doing this it renders the convexes at the bottom edge useless, for some reason their range of movement is less then the flat glass, which is why I added another bracket to hold convexes on. (see pic).

I think you guys are trying to adjust them in too far. I have mine adjusted where I just can't see the side of the truck and then use the convex mirrors to see down the side. This seems to work much better for me than I ever had with the OEM's. With the tow mirrors and the interior rearview I have about a 5 lane view of the road. I can see everthing down the side of the truck with the convexes and then the big mirrors are out there for quick lane changes and seeing the back of the trailer.

Just a suggestion, not trying to tell anyone they are wrong.

I hear yah, I just don't think these are suited for my way of looking through the mirror, just glad I had the chance to try them out.

Well, I haven't given up on these yet. The company is sending another set to try.

Whatever the outcome, I have to say that people at Vision View couldn't be any nicer or more responsive! They're A-1 folks!!

Ok there's my 2 cents... ... . I have both styles in my garage right now. Both are brand new. The old style has no issues what so ever of vibration, houseing or mirror glass. The old style has a prefect amout of vision when looking in the drivers and passenger side. Very long story how I ended up with the with the other set of new style. When those are installed, I feel, the front looks like a bubble... didnt like that at all..... the glass vibrates. When shutting the doors the whole assembley wobbles????? When you try to see out the passengers side, even with an 1/8" shim installed, it was a joke. I checked three times to make sure I was installing correctly. The quality of these newer style was not aceptable... . period. For my money not worth the $325 they charge. They are close, but not close enough for $325. They are being shipped back today. I reinstalled the first gen. miorrs from cipa. My 2 cents..... they look, function, and preform better

Just spent 14 hours on the road with my new Cipia mirrors pulling a 24' Gooseneck trailer with a 7,500lb truck on it and I love mine. They make for an awesome view to the rear of the truck and all the way down the side of the trailer. Really made driving in all the rain and storms much easier than it would have been with the stockers. I could even keep an eye on all the trailer lights and tie down straps with these mirrors.

I give my set an A+ rating, I would buy another set again in a second.

Can you actually see when people are following you now? Even on my gooseneck trailer, I can't see if someone is following me. Especially if they are real close.

For those of you that have had your door panels off, are there plastic panel clips or trees that have broken off during removal and reinstallation? Just want to be sure I have some on hand if needed.

Go to Napa and tell them you have a Dodge truck and want the tool to take off the door panels. I got mine there... was about $8 if I remember correctly. There's nothing to it, but it sure helps keep those intact. I've taken my door off twice with it and haven't broke a clip...
