I was hoping to leave the resonator in place, that puppt is 4" (I think) at its oulet and the pipe to replace the muff needs a bend, If I pitch the resonator will you method work without having to deal with the idiots at the muff shop to get the pipe bent? I don't know if there is a difference between yours and an 01.

My bad... I didn't notice that you had an ISB.....

From what I've seen, the exhaust systems are very similar..... 3" downpipe... . 4" muffler inlet... . 3" muffler outlet... . 3" tailpipe... . it's just that the kitty kat and the resonator that are different.



As long as your downpipe and tailpipe are the same size... a straight length of pipe flared at both ends will work just fine. Last I knew... it was a straight shot from the DP to the tailpipe on the ISB's.....

Mark, Scotty's muffler here in San Bernadino did min for forty five bucks. They cut the Muffler and res. out and put in a new piece of pipe. They said it was easy. They welded the new piece in place and were done in 35 minutes. No resonator and no problems.



As far as March 16th goes. . . I will try to make it. Not having anything done, just thought it would be nice to meet a few of my new neighbahs. We found a home in Wakefield NH, and will be there on the 6th of march. So, depending on when (and if) the moving van arrives, I could sneak down for a morning cup'a joe!

Does the pipe that was installed in yours have any bends in it?

Sounds like I'm gonna have to slide back under and eyeball it, see if I can do the muff and resonator with a straight pipe. Got an electrician friend who might be able to bend 3" fo me. Hate to drive over it with the Jeep to bend it.

I would also like to listen to one that has no res / kitty, muff in it on wrench day to make sure that on trips to Florida it won't keep me awake while I'm drivin. Louder is better (most of the time) My Jeep is V8 headers straight pipe and sounds like a race car / out of controll Harley

Maybe they wouldn't mind if a old 47RH suddenly finds a home in that V-10 powered beast... .

They don't need OD or lockup... . it's only gonna get 7mpg anyway!

On edit: Just changed my mind... I forgot you had 2wd... . I don't want to tear down a perfectly good transmission to swap out a tailshaft which is the LAST thing to come out... ...

MarkF, The pipe is straight. It raised my tailpipe up but only slightly. I had to really look to notice the difference.



Could someone email me directions to Massdiesel from say, the portland area. Heck, just what town it is in and directions from an interstate. Thanks alot. I won't have e-mail as of 2/25 until right about wrench day. Thanks in advance. Dennis

Directions to Massdiesels:



From rte 95

rte 1 south (in Sharon), go past Foxboro (CGMI) Stadium.

take a right at the next set of lights (rte 115) there is a restauraunt there that looks like an old white house.

take a right at the stop sign (this is now rte 115)

stay on rte 115 for about 4-6 miles, KTM motorcycle dealer is on the right, go behing this building and Massdiesel is he first two bays on the left.



From 495 South

left at the bottom of ramp (towards Franklin)

follow for 6 miles, to intersection of rte 115

take left onto rte 115,

follow 2 miles, KTM motorcycle dealer is on the right, go behing this building and Massdiesel is he first two bays on the left.

KTM dealer is a red building, you need to turn into their parking lot (before the building) and Massdiesels is down the dirt driveway.
