Muff Update:D

One piece of pipe 37" long 3" dia. with both ends expanded to 3" ID $25 Two 3" exhaust clamps and one heavy duty universal hanger $7. 53 and the muffler and resonator have been replaced, all for less than $35:D

Just came back from the test drive: with the windows up it is only a tiny bit louder, but sounds real throaty, with the windows down Oo. Oo. Oo. It sounds awesome!!

I don't recomend anyone try this without torches. I was trying to be nice removing the muff and res in case I didn't like the way it came out I could put them back on. I had to get a little "rough " with the cutting torch, but it doesn't matter now the muff and res are officially permanently retired from service.

I think the same disgruntled gorrilla that put the oil filter on at the factory also tightened up the exhaust clamps, the factory pipes were CRIMPED. You need torches for this one!

See ya'll on wrench day:D :D

I hear ya Mark... ... ... ... I tried to salvage my OEM exhaust when replacing with a 4" system. After about an hour of:{ #@$%! I said F^&k-it... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... where' my d^m sawsall!!!! 5 minutes later, the OEM exhaust was in three pieces:rolleyes:

Enjoy the music!!!!

TOOLS

Ok Wrench People, make sure we bring our own tools. MassDiesel will be providing the shop, lift, air, roof and heat, but tools will be up to ourselves.

need a lift

Just wondering if anyone from fairfield county, CT or Westchester,CT is going to the NE Wrench Day and mass. I'd like to go, but would like to get a ride up. I'd be willing to drive an hour either direction to meet up with someone going up.

If you're near Greenwich and going up, and have a spare spot, shoot me an instant message or email to -- email address removed --

thanks guys,

Brian, FWIW, you can take your Ford we won't goof on you too much there may be other people there with chevies or Fords. Sometimes they show up, sometimes they don't.

arrival time

Hello again,

I haven't been here in a bit. Was on vacation and got the flu. Have been down for a week today. Still not feeling great. Anyway... On 3/16 I am going to try to arrive at massdiesel's shop at 7:00A. I will have the jig and some other items for use. I would suggest that those who wish to use the jig method do not need to schedule time for the lift unless they need it for something else. My truck is a 3500 2WD and I can get under on a creeper. Everything else is done from topside.

There are two things of importance I would like to note.

1. Anyone who is going to use the jig method should consider having the correct seals/gaskets on hand in case their pin has started to move and will thus have to pull the front down anyway to drive the pin back in. You can follow with either tab or continue with jig at that point.

2. I must depart no later than 3:00 P. on that day. Just so everyone is aware of this, the jig will depart at the same time. No loan or overnight etc. It isn't because I am trying to be stiff about this and I apoligize about this in advance if this appears to be the case. But this is the set of conditions I agreed to in order to be able to hold on to the jig until this date. I appreciate everyone's understanding in this. If anyone has any questions, suggestions or concerns, please of course, post them or PM me.

Sorry for the long post.

John

Is there somebody that could be granted the Jig control? I don’t see how we could get the 6 or so trucks Jiged in that time period.

time

Gummel, Regarding the jig process, I have been in touch with CPFF and illflem by PM and my understanding is that illflem can do a whole job in about an hour. My thoughts were this. If the trucks were taken down ASAP after arrival then their owners stood by and we moved the jig from one truck to another, then the owners reassembled, it could go quite fast. If the weather is good we do not necessarily have to be inside for the disassembly to use the jig. Anyone else have any other thoughts? Another comment though, this did start out to be a KDP fix and I beleive this should be the first priority.

Regards, John

Like John said it will all depend on Weather... . and this is New England... Thought I would remind those who forgot. . what was it 55 Today?

Darren

Bryan,

I live in Danbury, and there are other's not so far from there. One of us can give you a ride, or as Batman sez, you can take the Ford...

We generally caravan up if you'd like to join us.

Matt

The jigging will commence as soon as John and I arrive from the 'West of 495' portion of Mass..... we're leaving Gardner @ 6:00AM from a nationally advertised coffee/fried pastries franchise.

We'll probably be there by 7:00AM... . rip roaring and ready to go.

Matt - getting ready to do a little jig, CPFF style... .

For the members wanting SPA gauge installations;

I have made a CheckList of the “extra’s” you might need. Of course, this is dependant upon what gauges you want installed and your personal preference. I have tried to cover all the options available. It is in MS Word, so contact me via PM with your home email address and I will send it as an attachment.

I will also bring any special tools needed, drill:eek:, drill bits:eek:, taps:eek:, etc. :D

Matt,

Yes, the $PA’s are not for everyone. Like anything else, it depends on how far you want to go and what you are comfortable with.

There is other gauge options available that we can help with :D

Wow, time is flying by. March is here... . We are having a Drought so I expect it to Pour on the 16th... :(

Hope I am wrong.....
