Bill, that's good info, did you order one ? I, too, had the original that I bought from Geno's, gave it to a friend to use. This one has my interest.

I will probably wait to order one. Kinda $$ for me. I'll search around for a better price. The G-Tech Pro Comp must be only weeks old. Very few places to buy them.
 
I agree Bill. I just ordered a new set of Hella 220 driving lights, my latest endevour. That, coupled with a date at A. W. D. for fast coolers and a front Mag-Hytec cover have completely depeleted my BOMBing funds. This might be a good request for X-Mas, providing that TDR members give it a thumbs up. I'll wait and watch for now.

Speed is derived from knowing how much the truck weighs with a given amout of time and acceleration from the accelerometers within the unit. RPM and Torque are another mystery to me. RPM would require some input from the vechicle and Torque I believe is caculated from Hp and RPM I think. Somebody know for sure.
 
I have been wondering how the new G-tech works myself. I'm guessing that you have to enter wheel height, weight, rear axle ratio, and transmission gear ratios. The accelerometer can sense miles per hour. With mph and the final gear ratio, you can calculate rpms. With rpms and horsepower, you can calculate torque.

My buddies and I just went in on this thing. It's brand new and I guess we are testing some of the new software they are developing. The RPM I believe (disclaimer) is derived from the flux in current via the cig lighter that the G-tech plugs into. The accelerometer (sp?) gives you acceleration, the integral of Acc gives Velocity and the integral of Velocity gives you distance. That's how you know you've gone a 1/4 mile. Pretty amazing really. This thing is conducting 2nd integrals on the fly. Integration being the opposite of derivation, the second derivative of distance is acceleration. I haven't had a chance to read the manual yet or play with it more that one day but we were downloading data to a laptop and it seems pretty cool. Data acquisition is always a good thing. I'll try to get more of a clue this week and post a more intelligent response. I was just excited to share something for once instead of asking (annoying) more questions!





BTW, We were running quarter mile times around 18. 3 at 7300' elevation with a stock truck + EZ and 3. 55 rear (5 speed. )
