I just installed a set of Street Scene Speedgrill inserts with the matching inserts in the bumper. It looks great and I like that I finally have some protection for those lower openings and fog lights.

I would post a picture if I knew how to to it! I can email the photo to someone who can post it if you like or if someone can tell me how to do it - I'd be happy to!

e-mail me I can pop it up here for you.

Steve,

I emailed the photo to bcummings and he'll post it here so everyone can see. Let me know if you still want a seperate email.

Just a computer question here, I couldn't bring up the photo. There is a little "x" in the middle. I assume it has something to do with my settings. Can anyone help? New to the board and absolutely love it !

Things went horribly awry when I tried to up-load it to my server, and apperantly, nothing worked.

So I did it again, when I had enough life in me to do it right. . Here it is.

Depends on who you go through - but you can expect to pay roughly $2 bills for the grill and bumper inserts.

Note: Once you commit to the install, there is no going back to the original grill inserts! You essentially destroy the stock honeycomb grill. Also note that if you are reasonably nimble, you can install the set without removing the bumper and the entire grill as the instructions tell you to do :eek: I almost fell off my chair when I read the part about removing the bumper!

Anyone know a good (read: cheap) place to get the chrome frame that goes around the grille? My is bubling the chrome off and my local Five Screw dealer wants over $250 for the darn thing. Any ideas? (mopar4less is no longer up on the web, tried last night). Thanks!

Has anyone bought the lund black plastic inserts? Also can you buy just the bumper inserts? I cant quite justify spending 2 large ones (Im cheap) for the inserts.

I have the Lund Stainless grille and bumper inserts, I like em alot. Easy to install, although I modified the install using nylon locknuts so they can not be removed from the outside. No destroying the factory honycomb either, and only paid about $120 for both. One of these days I'll get pics up.

Davison,

I bought them at JBM Automotive in Orange, CA. They are off Katella, just NE of the 57fwy. 714-997-0400. You'll have to specify if you want the lower inserts as well. The uppers only are roughly $120 and the lowers roughly $80... . They worked with me a little on price/tax/delivery.

They are lightweight and not overly impressive when you pull them out of the box... . but they look nice and protect that lower opening well.

Here's another hint on the install: DO NOT lay them on the floor in your garage next to where you are working because you'll step on one and spend a lot of time trying bend it back to its proper form! :rolleyes: This is experience talking!

I went another route!

I rather liked the honeycomb grill. I was able to find a supplier that makes the bumber inserts that match the grill exactly. Installation time takes less than 10 seconds they just snap in. Looks great and cost less than $30 shipped. Didn't have to destroy anything so I can change later if I decide to. If anyone is interested I will email a photo.

Cryppie;

I'm shopping for a new grill frame, too. My didn't survive a nightly encounter with a chrome deer in the grocery store parking lot.

Many people have directed me to <a href="http://www.stullindustries.com/" target=_blank>Stull Industries</a>. I'm also considering the <a href="http://216.167.98.200/CoastalData/showdetl.cfm?&DID=30&User_ID=91880&st=3093&st2=75730926&st3=-35493402&Product_ID=166&CATID=1" target=_blank>&quot;Sweet Tooth Grill&quot;</a> from <a href="http://www.genosgarage.com/" target=_blank>Geno's Garage. </a> Less than half of the Dodge gold plate priced units and very unique looks and will go well with the honeycomb insets Justbeamn located from <a href="http://www.unusualauto.com/truck_accessories.htm" target=_blank>Unusual Auto</a>. Not sure if the &quot;Street Scene&quot; inserts will fit though.

Cheers;

That does sound like a lower cost alternative... .

Personally, I couldn't walk outside every morning and look at that sweet-tooth grill. But that's just my personal taste.

Thanks Scooby

I ordered the lower (valence?) covers to protect the fog lamps on our trip to Alaska. Their being sent and the cost was just a bit less than you said. Thanks for the tip.

Anything unusual about the install of the lowers?
