Just got my 2nd gen. First time diesel owner!

Firsr time 4BT owner, advice on lift pump swap?

Another update. We just got back from a 1500 mile trip throughout Florida and back home to Birmingham. We had a really good time. Averaged 7.5mpg for the whole trip. I manually shifted into 4th for most of the trip and just let it run at 3200rpm. It cruises along pretty good at that rpm at 65.

We had 3 of the kids with us this time and we actually ended up taking a second vehicle instead of all of us cramming into my truck for such a long trip.

I think I’ve pretty much decided against a diesel for now unless some crazy good deal comes along. Im actually starting to think we might be better off with a 3 row SUV like a 2500 Suburban or excursion or something. We have 4 kids total but the older two don’t always go or they all may not go at the same time. Between kids and dogs and all of their stuff a big SUV would be pretty nice. I’m thinking a V-10 or 8.1L would pull better than my 6.0L and if I went that route I’d have enough leftover to buy a high mpg car for every day driving.

Im just rambling but I appreciate all of the replies.

Thanks,
Joey

Independent suspension with short rear overhang. Is best for stability, especially when towing. Wider shorter sidewall tires if offered from factory.

Latest Expy and Tahoe are so equipped. Be certain of model year change.

Biggest engine no longer means much. It’s TQ available per 8 & 10 speed trans.
