Hi and welcome the the general conservation forum.

I'm back from vacation

I had a 69 four door Dart Slant "5". It simply had ZERO compression even after squirting oil in the bad cylinder. Actually ran good!

Had a BAD AZZ three on the tree!

We had a ‘95 Grand Cherokee with the 4.0L that wouldn’t die. At one point my wife called and the oil pressure was dropping to zero while she was driving. It had less than a quart of oil in it when I checked it. (Before I get lit up for poor maintenance, the oil pan gasket had a 2” piece out of the front of it and the thinner 5W30 I’d swapped to had poured out of it at every stop and downhill…)

Anybody used to drive a Chrysler slant 6? My Dad had a Plymouth Valiant and man, my brother and I beat the absolute p--- out of that thing and it never, ever broke.
My dad had a ‘68 Dodge pickup with a slant six and four speed. It was somewhat abused… :D
But, it was tough!

Had 2 slant sixes a '68 dart 4 door after I blew up the 340 4 speed in my '69. In the mid 80's I picked up a '71 2 door hardtop with a slant 6. The '68 I sold to my sister when I bought my 1st pick up . She put the 6 cylinder in her Valiant after she blew the 318, the '71 one of the kids wrecked. All 3 Darts were wonderful cars that took a lot of abuse but I wish I still had the '71.

I built a ‘67 225 slant 6 in 1980. .040 over, Holley 4 bbl, headers, Direct connection cam. Even made my own electronic ignition retrofit harness. It was fun. Put it in a ‘70 Dart. I was an expert at valve adjustment on a running engine :)

My mother had a 1970 Dart Swinger 2 door - which got wrecked. Then my parents purchased a 1976 Dart 4 door from my uncle near Cleveland, OH. I remember it would stall going around every corner. Dad fixed it with a new Holly carburetor. Since the car came from the Cleveland area any time you wanted to do work on the car the fasteners had to be soaked in penetrating oil a few days before any work could be done because of the rust. The car went a long time but finally was taken out in a wreck by my brother.
Our other long term straight six motors were a 258 AMC motor in our 1974 Jeep CJ5 which we still own. Also my brother had a 1990 Cherokee with the 4.0 six cylinder.

Me too. I had a '71 dart Swinger. Hauled tail and got 21 mpg on the highway. 318 cu.

I had a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger, slant 6, 3 on the tree. That was a great car. Also had a 73 Scamp, same power and transmission.
And a 78 Volare slant 6 auto. Piece of crap.
