Dieselfitter said:yes i feel the same way. time will tell on the getdrag 6 sp.
Gfrance-- the 1st gen trucks had a getdrag 5 sp , lots of problems with them behind a weeker tuned engine, in stock form of course.
the N V 5600 is proven to be strong even in trucks that are heavily bombed. I ordered an 05 as soon as I heard about the change.
I friend of mine drove a 6 sp in a jeep limited and said the shifting was smooth as glass
I don't know if it is the same getdrag that their putting in the trucks.
if it is that may be some of the reason for the change .

Purely economic in my mind. Don't forget, us TDR guys are among the very small percentage of people that know or even care what brand of 6 spd is in our trucks.
