Welcome Tony!! I am also a newer member, on the trans problems, I would highly recommend DTT http://www.dieseltrans.com/DTTech/index. sht
He is very honest and will shoot it to you straight.

Silencer Ring--many people take them off to supposedly striaghten out air flow--but from what I have read here about the difference you notice is more turbo noise.

Synthetic gear lube--good choise, check out Amsoil, comes in 2 choices.

Good luck--you are in the right spot to spend LOTS of $$$$ #ad

Welcome aboard Tony - I believe your no oil pressure at start up might be covered under a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin). I would go to Dave Fritz's web site (http://dodgeram.org/) for a real good listing on TSB's.
