Newbie in need of assistance!

Just thought I would introduce myself to the forum. I have watched this forum for several years, but I never gotten a membership. However now that I have a 2004. 5 Dodge on order, I signed myself up.

A few weeks ago I ordered up a 2004. 5 3500 4x4 SLT Quad Cab SRW short box, exactly the way I wanted it. The details/options are as follows:

5. 9L HO Cummins 600

6-speed

SLT

Atlantic Blue Pearlcoat

Dark Slate Grey interior

Leather

Anti-Spin Diff (3. 73)

Light Group

Sport Appearance Group

Trailer Tow Group

Power Folding Trailer Mirrors

Protection Group

Rear Window Defrost

I as soon as I get my truck I plan on adding the following accessories:

larger tires

exhaust or remove the muffler

mudflaps

floormats

spray in box liner

fender flares

by-pass filter

A little later I want to add:

Stereo System

Alarm

Gauges

Bumper

I will eventually Bomb this truck, but I want to try to hold off as long as I can. ;)

I have lots of questions relating to modifications, so I will be starting a few new topics in the next few weeks. Thanks in advance for all of the help this forum going to offer.

A Man with a Plan!

Welcome aboard! I REALLY am thinking of a 600 soooo much. Then i look outside and see the "Jerkmobile" and my heart just sinks cause I couldn't do it to her. Good Luck holding off on the bombitz You will have twins on it before ya know it! ;)

Welcome aboard! You cannot beat this place for info, everyone is extremely helpfull. Looking at your signature you have purchased a beauty. Good luck holding off the bombing bug. The hole is deep and the edges are slippery.

Welcome aboard 6 2 Carl.

Your are going to like your "600". I just got mine last week & it is great. I took it out & put 120 miles on it yesterday just driving around the countryside. It really feels solid going down the road & the brakes feel like they have a lot of stopping power. It is a great ride. Hope you don't have too long a wait.

I also am a new member with a 600 on order, but am getting cold feet after reading all stuff about the 600. I test drove one the other day and wasn`t impressed at all with giddy up and go, I know it wasn`t broke in yet but still. When you boast the biggest and the badest you expect the best or close to it. The reports on the mpg the 48re aren`t very good either and that`s what I ordered. I also heard they don`t have enough paint south of the border. I guess their afraid of over painting and getting some runs in the paint. How about the kitty, everyone is taking them off and running straight thur. Can`t do that where I`m from, have to pass the E test. SITD. Hunter
