Congrats to you Jeff.

Pulled the wildcat with the new truck today. Despite the 17" wheels, and 3500 I had to raise the fifth wheel setup an inch for my trailer to be level

I would have put a $buck$ down that a 3500 would be higher than a 2500! Maybe tires? Pulled about 50 miles, pulls nice. Working tonight and tomorrow, taking the cat to Lizardhead pass (between Rico and Teluride) for the weekend. Then next week I have to try to install some of the toys that are accumulating, pacbrake, guages, mudflaps to name a few. :D

Where do you measure boost from on the 05's?

Did you get the PacBrake PRXB? I'm doing my install tomorrow. I got the air tank kit, too, but the instuctions aren't so good. I'm probably going to do the normal install and install the tank later.

Glad I used one of the rearward holes for the boost bolt - the Pac compressor sits right on the front of the intake.

In sticking with the owner manual's instructions, I didn't pull over 50 mph but she sure rode nice. The manual says to stay under 50 mph for the first 500 pulling miles. Going to start tomorrow morning with the pacbrake. Guages are expected tomorrow so will install them Tuesday.

Got my Pacbrake in today. No problems getting it it. Left the air tank out until I call Pac to figure out how to hook it up. They gave me a new pressure switch but the drawing is all hosed up and the instructions aren't much better. Pleased as punch with the brake, though.

Did my pac today too. Molded mudflaps this evening. Going to do guages tomorrow. Can you drill/tap the 05' with the turbo on? (EGT).

Oo.

This is FUN.

I did.

I used the shop vac when drilling, and used a greased tap when tapping. When I was done, I started the truck and let it idle a little before I revved it up. No problems in the last 20,000 miles.

FWIW, when I pulled the downpipe off for the Pac Brake, I looked in the turbo and everything looked fine. A little black, but that's to be expected.

That is how I did it before but was concerned about the different angle of this manifold. Wow. Went out to drill this morning and see this isn't going to be as easy as the 02' was. There are obstacles in this truck. Where did you put the thermosensor? I see where some are putting it in the top (would be easy there) but I want to put it in the neck of the manifold right before the turbo.

I pulled the liner out of the fender and used a right angle attachment on the drill (didn't take the tire off, though - I should have!). I put it in the 4-5-6 collector about an 1" above the turbo flange. Joe Donnelly told me that the #3 port on the upper manifold (where the boss is on an ATS manifold) works just as well. Anyway, I put mine where most seem to have put theirs. Just be sure NOT to center it on the manifold - there is a web separating the 1-2-3 from the 4-5-6 collectors!

I can get you a picture if necessary, but I think you know where I put it.

My location sounds exactly the same as where you put yours. Probe location I only read on other post where someone used a right angle attachment on the drill for this preceedure. (Recent design changes  ) The attachment I got tangles itself with the plumbing from the firewall and black canaster mounted on the firewall. I am going to take measurements this morning and will check whether a right angle drill will fit before removing the liner. Perhaps will check out the ATS location you described as it may have better access. (That port on the pacbrake keeps looking better and better but I would sure rather have pre-turbo location)

Looks good. That's where I put it, too. I did mine withthe liner removed but with the tire still mounted. As Dr. Phil would say, "what was iI thinking!" Pulled the tire when I did the Pac, and I was amazed at how easy it was to maneuver around in there. Almost makes me WANT to take it off.

Nah, those darn tires are heavy!

Anybody got a GTG planned?

Juan
