I dont think that will impress Joe much!!!! you shoulda seen his Bell MSB-1250-3. that was HUGE!!! like, massive, wonder how it even fit under the hood huge. I couldnt believe that thing when I saw it. It was crazy.

did you get a SPS62?? How do you like it? your truck is a 5-speed, right?

When are you coming back to Silver?? Maybe when you are back we can have a meet somewhere between here and LC to meet up with you southern guys.

We should have a nmtdr trip to may madness one of these years. that would be cool. I bet we could round up a few guys to go!!!

--Jeff

No actually Have the 6 speed "NV 5600" saving up for a South bend Clutch MU1947 Con FE right now. Yes, I have the SPS 62 along with the ATS Arch Flow and ATS exhaust manifold. I'm hoping to get back to Silver in November, but my EAOS is Jan07, so it's up to my CO... He doesn't understand how bad I miss my Mexican Food... Damn Easteners, don't know what real food is. Yeah, maybe we could meet in TorC at the butte and guy's bring some boats and have a weekend at the lake... The NMTDR trip to May Madness is a awesome idea, we should really do that. A line of Cummins; NM representing... Count me in... By then I'll have my 19. 5's :-laf

I just registered in the NMTDR, user name is Silverback. I need to get my pics posted over there, but ya'll can look here for now.

I dunno why, but until today I thought you had a 2nd gen.

If you get back to nm, Joe D can help you out with the Con FE. maybe he will get you the new mexico tdr price? :D

In all honesty, if you need parts talk to him. he's the man when it comes to getting a decent price on parts.

--Jeff

oh yeah, and those easterners DEFINITLEY dont have a clue what they are missing with our chile!!! thats a good thing though. I dont think there is enough to go around, especially since new mexico doesnt know what water is anymore!!!

My cousin lives in NC and she hates the food.

All you can get is canned NASTY chili out here, NO FLAVOR!... YUCK! When I went home last November for Thanksgiving I brought back three ice chest's of chili and Alb flour tortilla's... You do what you have to do. I made green enchilada's for a fellow TDR member out here, he's hooked. The thing is I use it very sparingly. The good thing is though I can get dried "red chili out here "from new mexico" Tell your cousin to come down to Havelock and I'll make a pot of bean's & enchilada's with red chili. "red chili the only reason I've made it this long"... . I knew there was a reason I learned how to cook and boy am I glad I do.

If you can get some red chile sauce shipped (most places do), or even find the red chile sauce at Wally World, from Monroe's or Sadies', here's a QUICK, EASY, and damn tasty recipe for carne adovada:

  • Get a couple pounds of pork or beef, not too lean. Cubed is nice, if they got it.
  • Get some of those little 1 inch round (roughly) red potatoes, a pound or two. .
  • Get out your frying pan, and brown the meat - or sear over a hot grill for a couple minutes.
  • Get out a crock pot, or a glass pan if you wanna bake it.
  • Put the browned meat in the cooking vessel of choice, season with garlic salt and red chile flakes for heat.
  • Dump about a quart of the red chile (I'm salivating. . sorry guys, trying to focus) over the meat in your pot.
  • Cut the potatoes in half, put them on top of the chile and sauce. Salt the potatoes, and cover them with MO' sauce.
  • Set the crock pot on low, cover, and go locate some tortillas.
  • If you are baking, set the oven temp to 180-190 degrees, cover the pan with aluminum foil & set it in the oven to bake.

Now, the best time to do this is first thing in the AM on a day off, or before work. Let it cook ALL day. . (ie until about 5 PM). . When you come in the house, you'd swear you walked into some Mom and Pop's Mexican restaurant thanks to the aroma of the carne adovada. . grab your tortillas, warm 'em up, then go grab a Corona, XX, or Tecate with limes & enjoy. . One of my favorites! And it is REALLY easy... You can also substitute pork ribs in this recipe. . Mmmm!! Oo.

I spotted 3 tdr guys in the last few days.

MOtero was behind me on I-25 while I was headed to the lake (sorry, my phone died when I was talking to you... guess ya gotta charge those things  )

Saw Warren at the lake in his jeep (nice jeep by the way, Warren)

And I saw Icarus on eubank thursday afternoon. I think he was turning into bobs burgers, which is a shame because you just missed me. I was there about 45 minutes before I saw you... .

I know, Ive tried it. Its awesome. I usually dont order crap like that at a restaraunt. It is never up to par, IMO.

I stick to green chile cheeseburgers or cheese enchiladas. Those are hard to screw up...

Did you get that chummins running yet????

Been running around it!! LOL . . I finally decided what to do on the fuel system, specifically the tank. . I bailed on using the tank-in-a-toolbox design & just picked up a 50 gallon side tank from a Ford F800. . I had to build a steel tubing pedestal, & anchored it to the frame via the 2 forward bed carriage bolts. . Stripped and painted the tank (rattle bomb!), got a fuel cap, plumbed the lines, voila'! Now I can yank the engine out one mo time, button up the last few items, hammer on the transmission tunnel some more, undercoat / insulate, reinstall engine, do the electrical, and try to start putting it all back together. . You know, about an afternoon's worth of work... .

Redneck lotterey winner....

This is what happens when a redneck wins the lotterey...

Hey Jeff, I was trying to post a reply and something went weird... so here it is again. It was good to see you at the lake. Nice Rig you have there. I didn't realize you hadn't seen my Heep. Your grand dad gave me one on the best compliments I've ever had especially considering the source. We were on a trail ride doing some stair steps and afterward he said "that's one sanitary 5"... Well it was meaningful to me anyway. Some jerkwad tried to steal my CJ-5 last fall but I caught him and chased him off. I told him I was gonna kill him (in my underwear at midnight) and his eyes got really big and he ran off. He started it and twisted of the rear prop shaft trying to get away with it.

Well anyway, more later. I was out of communication for a while. but I'm back

Take care everybody.

BTW anyone else seen that multi-colored monster 80's chevy crew cab 4x4 in the Belen area? Diesel powered, and I thought it sounded cummins but was too far off to tell.

it was great to see you to Warren. My grandpa had actually mentioned how clean your '5 is to me. I had never seen it though. He is right. Are you running a 30 front and 44 rear?

Yeah, the guy in belen's name is Charles. He works at intel with Linc.

He was actually at the butte last weekend also. I saw him driving around a few times. It is a cummins in that truck. And I think Linc said they were also doing a cummins in a newer tahoe??

So, who is down for a lunch meet next wednesday, say Fudds or The OWL?? Linc has rounded up some potential intel attendees if anyone wants to make it a meet... .

Yep - Charles. . he works for a contractor on site here. . NICE hardware on that truck - not cheap by any means, as projects go. . 12v, 180HP P7100 with a plate, and 5 speed. . Did his own exhaust work using some *very nice* stainless tubing. . (wonder where it came from??) :-laf Incredibly nice guy. . I doubt I'd be able to get him to a NMTDR lunch since he's one of the few who actually work around here. . LOL

I should have a few Intel guys interested. . An 11:30 meet time somewhere on I25 works out great for us... Fudd's / Owl preferably. .
