dont worry about it, it is a fairly common things for us to do lunch. the ideas about doing lunch on the 12th of february was kicked around, any takers?

E-mailed you my info to join up. Didn't see my name on the list you just posted. Let me know if you didn't get it.

I have not got it. Send me a PM with your info and I will gladly add you. My aol spam crap filters out pretty much everything, so it may have filtered your address out. Sorry.

So, is everyone happy with the normal Bobs Burgers meets? (I know Luis and I are!!! :) ) I can meet for lunch on tue, thurs, or fri.

I'd like to attend a meet but need to plan the day because it is 3 hours each way. I work the next 5 nights, then off for 6 days. If there is a meet during those 6 off I'd like to attend. :D

We should be doing lunch sometime in those 6 days I would think. Maybe you'd prefer to meet for a breakfast or something on the weekend? Here soon, the dragstrip opens up.

also, saturday aug 16th there is a jeep meet at auges in belen, but I bet a lot of us TDR guys will be present as well.

What do you guys say to breakfast Saturday the 12th (so LOtero can attend) at the Isleta Casino? I would love to make it to ATS that weekend, but I have something going on sat afternoon.

I'm certainly up for a lunch meet, I can leave here after the wife leaves for work and get there just in time for lunch. I'd like to check out some trucks too!

I figured anything I can do to make our club known is good. I have also been putting flyers in other Cummins winshields.

I think membership is up to like 18 already!

Looks like were doin good so far!

Jeff,

Been working on a logo for the NMTDR. Probably get Phil to make me up a sample. Just killing time on the road. I have been meeting a lot of people and telling them about TDR and the new chapter. Been using my "TDR Business Cards" I showed you guys at Hooters. What other information do you have I could possibly hand out?

Met some folks (vendors) at the Supercar Nationals last night and talked to them about TDR "connections". I'll let you know if anything turns up.

OK, so here's what finally happened - told the bosses that they needed to make me an offer to finally get me off the road (they did), it sucked (really) and so I told them to put me back in the local office (they did) and that I could transition back (I'm working on it). Yesterday they pulled a fast one on me (my fault proboably) and figured out how to keep me on the road 1/2 the time. Anyway, I'll be here 1/2 the time so if you need any help, let me know.

I'll post a sample logo later (it's on my laptop right now)

Sorry I missed you guys for lunch.

Oil changing intervals polled

I have been reading a bit about oil changing, and sampling etc. In my earlier day I ran a Deere motorgrader for a county in CO. where the oil change frequency was 3000 miles (don't remember the hours clocked) and they sent an oil sample every oil change. That made an impression on me and I have always changed my oil at 3000 mile intervals. There have been some posts indicating that 3000 miles is too short so I thought I would make a poll and see what folks at TDR are doing. The poll is at https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122002 if you want to check it out. I'm impressed by the replies where through sampling guys have been able to extend miles between changes. 24K changing the filter at 6K intervals and still testing good! I'm going to have to start sampling. There are some interesting technical articles at Blackstone Labs about sampling.

Dang that one guy has 75K on his oil! Not me.....

I usually change around 8K. I run Valvoline (no reason, except I get it dirt cheap from SW cummins) and mopar/fleetguard filters.

that would be great. I would love to see the logo. Juan, I dont have an email address for you on my contact sheet. I will see if I can find one, If I can, I have a "new recruit" package thingy I put together. A page about our club, and the TDR membership drive page. I will foward you a copy to your email.

If you are talking about action muffler (the diesel guys that were there), I have tried to get them to do something for me in the past. They used to be located across the street from a shop my friend owns, and they were supposed to cut me a deal. Well, for starters, I wasnt impressed with the work. Ended up, they were more $$ than the "other" place I could have had it done at. My friend had them build him a trailer, and they kinda screwed him on it. oh well, maybe they will be more helpful to us as a "club". ???

I put my truck back to mostly stock this weekend with hopes of saving my clutch a little longer. I raced LOteros bro saturday (Mario) and pretty much did my clutch in. oh well.

--Jeff

ha ha so your clutch is finally toast eh? my bro told me about the race. Does this mean i am no longer the slowest??? we are going to have to do lunch this week, dsilva my bro and his lightning fast rig will be going outta town for a few months, when is good?

Well, its not toast, but with the plate I ground it will slip it bad. When I raced Mario, I would pull him and then the clutch would slip. I would let off, it would grab, and then I would catch him again, and then it would slip. over and over.

With the 11 plate, it still holds. When I raced you, I had the 11 in, so you didnt get that lucky yet.

anyways, I thought you finally beat mario with the shift kit?

did you get your trans fixed again? I went to the arroyo at univ/gipson about 7:00 sat night, and didnt see you still there so I assume all went well.

Lunch:--tomorrow, wednesday, or thursday works for me. Just not friday, I have to haul tires. tomorrow or thursday, no later than 12:00. Wednesday, no later than 11:00. up to you.

--Jeff

i kicked his *** but i red lighted him bad, and like he told me the other day when he cheated, "hey its racing" as far as the shift kit, no i still get whooped. yea we got it fixed and i only almost got runned over once! it was cold and wet but it was just a linkage issue. if you went at 700, you just missed us. you should have called me, you could have went to my uncles house and had some beers and watched me work with the rest of em! im talking with dave on lunch and loosely it looks like tomorrow at 11 but dont quote me on that.

No way I can row my six speed fast enough - can't tell you how many times I've tried to hit 7th!

Jeff - I'll PM you my e-mail. I am finishing up another idea and I'll post here so everyone can see it. The guys I talked to were Discount Radiator on San Mateo - talked with Eloy. They are a flowmaster authorized dealer and now sell the full line of MBPR's. They had a 5" dual exhaust for a Duramax and a 5" single for the Cummins on display. I thought I would mosey on over this week if I can get away from work early enough.

BTW, I joined up with DTW - thought it would be a good way to keep the two clubs linked up. They were starting to get too many gassers! :-laf

Juan

BTW, I joined up with DTW

I didnt even notice! So, do you have your 21 posts yet to be a NM member over there?

I also go by pwerwagn over there. Yup, they have way to many gassers. I only use the NM forum over there, and even it is pretty dead. The diesel forum is full of novices. Nothing wrong with that, unless you like answering the exact same questions over and over again. there are a few guys over there from here. NDurbin, git-r-done, etc.

I believe discount radiator/action were the same booth. did they have a nice 32 ford chassis sitting in the booth? (frame was yellow, I think). If you need help with the logo, let me know. Also, check out the NM DTW logo. I think i have one of the only ones. its on the dtw site.

I kinda like the Mason Dixon type TDR logo. with the flags. Except I prefer Die-cut stickers.

--Jeff

Hey guys, don't chime in very often but I've known Eloy & John over @ Discount Exhaust for several years. Just had Eloy do my 4" single. His dual 4" from muffler back is a neat pc. IMO, he does some of the best work in town. Hopefully I can meet at one of the lunches and you can take a look at it. Great sound, no drone at all. Best of al they get it done when they say they will for a fair price.

alright its on! lunch will be tomorrow at bobs burgers on eubank, north of central. its going to be at 1100. my bro in law will be going outta town for a while to learn how to play banjo. i know pwerwagn and i are bobs junkies so we will be there, along with my other brother, so hope to see you there!

Will try to get by. Have appointment in Rio Rancho @ 10:00. If ever in the area, stop by 2415 Princeton NE Suite M. Across from Barnhill bolt off Menaul.
