Does anyone in the NM Chapter know where I can rent or borrow a scale to weigh the four corner jacks on my Lance camper. Must be capable of 1200 lbs or better. My new 05 3500 dually squats 1" lower on the passenger side with the camper on. I took it to the Dealer, with camper on, and they said that the problem is the weight distribution on the camper. I called Lance and they said that it is not the camper since they go through lengths to keep the weight as even as possible. The weight was equally distributed on my 95 dually. All the tires are even pressured (60psi). Inside contents are equal. There is no water in any of the tanks. There is a 3500 watt generator on the passenger side at the rear of the camper, however Lance say it is compensated for by the bath on the drivers side. I will do two things, 1: weigh the four corners of the camper as it sits off the truck and 2: add 4000 lbs to the bed of the truck in the form of sand or gravel. Grizzly (George Baca) :)

George,

My buddy has a large scale used to weigh trucks. It is located in Los Lunas. Lemme measure the scale's length (I know its wide enough). I weighed my camper on in, and mine is a 10. 5' lance, but it was tight. you could probably weight one side of the camper, then load it back up and weight the other side to tell???

FWIW, my lance does the same thing. The drivers side squats more than the passenger side. I usually run about 10-15psi more in the drivers airbag for that reason. ;)

where'd everybody go??

Finally got the new trailer! Went to Alamogordo for the weekend (+1) to try her out.

Sweeeeeeet.

It was hotter n' hell down there (and on the way home yesterday). Glad we got two A/C's.

She pulls great behind this truck. Need to scale it out still, but I expect we were running 13,500 or so. Ran 65-70 the whole way (with all of us plus A/C). Got almost 12 mpg down there. Had lots of wind coming back (but very stable), got only 10 or so. Forgot how many hills there are between San Antonio and Carrizozo.

Calling Joe Donnelly - could use more power!

Actually, it wasn't as bad as I expected.

Off to Bluewater this weekend, then she gets parked for a week while I catch up on chores.

Thanks Jeff, do you think air bags is the way to solve this problem? I hate the though of using air bags. If so, what brand do you recommend and where should I buy them. Thanks, George. PS,Your uncle Sam Argo from Melloy is my friend.

I took the employee discount bait and brought home a new baby tonight! They took my 02' 2500 trade, no $down$, I get $1000 check for guages and pacbrake and my payment is exactly the same for an 05' 3500. They are also moving my fifth wheel hitch to the new truck. :)

Congratulations!!!

Wow Jeff!! sounds like you got a good deal!! After we talked yesterday about the employee discount, I talked to my parents and told them the kinda prices you were seeing and they are going to go look today to see if they can find something they like!!!!

see what you started..... :)

So what did you get?? did you get a 3500 or 2500??

Congratulations!

Thanks for your knowledgeable advice yesterday Jeff. I got another white (we like the white truck with our white fifth wheel trailer), 3500 single wheel 6 speed, Big Horn edition.
