Just got in from the Mopar Nat's in Ohio (been up for 22+ hours now, so dont crucify me for any blunders)... not all its cracked up to be in Ohio. When Indy hosted it, there were 3 times as many cars/people etc. Oh well.
The neatest thing (to me) there was that silver Powerwagon concept truck. Got to crawl around and check it out. I layed on the ground and looked at the powerplant since they would not open the hood. She has a CAT in there. Not sure exactly what it is, maybe a 3116 or 3126. Anyway, who cares. Heres the big deal:
The guy in charge was checking me out crawling under it and approached me. We started talking (he wouldnt confirm what I already knew about the brand of engine in that truck for now) about trucks, diesels etc (he smiled when he found out I worked for CAT, kind of like a kid does when he gets cought red handed in the cookie jar).
I asked when this thing was going to get started up in production. He said that the Germans are a little more conservative about NPI (New Product Introduction) compared to the old ChryCo. His words... "in order for this thing to take off, everyone who wants to see this truck on dealer lots needs to flood Chryslers web site demanding this truck go into full production. " He said the germans think it wouldnt sell, and he has been telling everyone who asks about it to send emails off to DC.
So I will do so after I get some shut eye. If you like the truck, do the same. If you have no idea what I am talking about, maybe someone with some computer skills can post a good pic of it on here for you to see and decide for yourself. This is how the PT Cruiser and Viper started off he said. People started flooding Corporate with demands for these vehicles, and after they saw there was a true intrest, they started making them.
I figure this is the biggest Dodge turbo truck site on the net, and since this thing could be in our driveway some day, we might as well give them our thoughts. Its up to people like us to give this thing a jumpstart. The whiteshirts in Germany could care less. All ready... ATTACK!!!!!!!
