Well this past Saturday Brad @ Ponci's diesel center and I installed a 2nd gen seat and also put on a 24 valve fuel filter assembly.
Well the seat came out of a donor pickup that Brad had picked up. The driver’s side seat was in shambles so I took it in and had it redone. The center console and the passenger side was in pretty good shape. It cost $280 to get the drivers side completely redone. I have read many posts as to how to install the seats, but Brad wanted to try something different. He built a sub frame and then used the factory brackets to mount them to the floor. If you check out my readers rigs you can see some of the early stages of the sub frame. I wish I would have done this along time ago. It is a very nice upgrade.
The 24 valve fuel filter set up came off a pickup that put a Full Fass system on. I had a fuel pressure gauge on my pickup, but I had it pre filter so I wanted to see how much pressure was actually making it to the pump. I asked Brad and he said that the factory unit was restrictive so that is why we put the 24 valve system on. The 24 valve system is also restrictive with the fuel heater in it, but I removed it. We also plumed the fuel pressure to read the pressure going to the pump. I get 17 psi at idle and 14 psi with WOT with the full fuel switch on. I gained maybe 2-3 psi of boost so it did help some, but the biggest thing is I know exactly how much fuel I have going to the pump.
Don’t look at the rats nest of wires one of these days I will get around to cleaning that all up.
