Anyone up close familiar with Matco tools?

sealed beam headlight amperage draw

Got a bunch of shelving up. Some stuff moved. Took 7 SEVEN loads of steel over. And an overfilled one to the scrap yard. Didn’t think I had that much. Still have the new steel to move.

Found a few other things the plumber messed up. Put a check valve on the inlet of the water heater. No - no pressure tank on the hot water side of things. IDIOTS!! And I asked 4 times for an escutcheon on the feed for the toilet. Nope. They forgot. Then the first time we cooked in the kitchen the faucet started to flop around. Never installed correctly. Sigh.

I’ll post more pictures of the shop when stuff isn’t just piled everywhere.

I'm pretty sure I've seen split flange escutcheon plates...but that's besides the point. Incompetence is everywhere and it stinks.

I just took a load of scrap in last week and was surprised how much it's gone up. 190 a ton here and that wasn't even the good stuff. I got a bunch of rotors and drums and a couple of blocks that need to go, among other things.

Yea, they have the split ones. I was able to cut a plastic one and it looks better than the split version - almost can't tell that it was cut.

Yea, I too was surprised at the price. Normally I check before I go to make sure it is worth taking stuff - this time it didn't matter - it had to go somewhere and it wasn't to the "new" house.

Dan, I have a question on the plumbing. Why did you install a check valve on the inlet side of the water line to the hot water tank? Did I stated that correctly? Also are you stating that the outlet side of the hot water tank water line, you installed a pressure tank/accumulator?

The reason I asked is not all municipalities require a pressure tank/accumulator in the outlet water line to the house plumbing! I know where my mother-in-law lived that city did. Where I have lived in three different cities it is not required. In fact my two sons who both are a plumber/pipefitter, in their homes they do not have one either. Both live in different cities than the city I live in. So, the plumber may not have screwed up if the city codes does not required the pressure tank/accumulator and if you did not specify in the plumbing contract.
Just saying!

Jim - I'm sorry - I might not have been clear (sometimes not unusual with all the stress I've got right now).

The plumber is the one who installed a check valve in the inlet side of the hot water heater - not me. I removed it. The only accumulator or pressure tank is the - pressure tank (we have a well - around here it is a shallow one - pump is down only 360') So, when my son and family were here, using more hot water than before, the water heater overpressurized and some came out the relief valve. (I was not a happy camper).

They were supposed to install a check valve inline with the circulator pump. I had them install one under the kitchen sink to keep hot water there and not waste water trying to get it hot. The check valve would prevent cold water from going to the faucet if the pump wasn't running. I'll eventually put a "timer" on the pump to prevent electric and hot water waste. The timer is a button that will keep the pump on for 5-10 minutes - depending on the capacitors I use to make the circuit.

Well, we moved in Feb 2. Garage/shop is a total disaster right now - need to set up stuff, unpack, etc.
Glad to be (mostly) moved but will be very happy when the old place is totally cleaned out and SOLD! The snow, ice, mud has slowed down cleaning things up at the old place. Don't want to make too many ruts in the yard/field cleaning up stuff. Made 2 scrap metal runs and 1 dump run on Wed. They were calling for more "weather" so I burned a day vacation to work at the old place.

Weather permitting, meeting with the realtor tomorrow to get the old place advertised. It needs work so I'm hoping to sell it as is - I'm burned out working on things.

Update on the plumber fiasco...
3 days after we moved in my wife puts something else under the bathroom sink and things are wet - GREAT - now what....the plumbers never tightened the drain, so it was dripping.
The shower door leaks at the bottom - so I need to re-caulk that. Done calling them back - useless and frustrating. They did drop several hundred off the labor for the other mistakes they had to fix (and for the ones in the concrete they couldn't fix ).

Heater in the garage is working GREAT! 44K and it keeps and warms up, even in the teens. Guess I did OK with the insulation then :) I'm happy!

Pellet stove in the house now working good as long as I keep the "fines" to a minimum. Got it connected to a thermostat so it increases heat output when necessary, but almost never has to do that - got the basement well insulated too. Sometimes need to open the utility room door (uninsulated area) to suck up some of the extra heat so it doesn't get too warm in the basement.

Hey how is the shop making out, did you get the air system figured out with the Milton quick disconnects, I installed a Rapidair fast pipe system, need to pull the trigger on the disconnect for the drops.
