Getting a little frustrated and looking for a vent.

Dealer replaced crankshaft, tone wheel and lift pump. After a test drive they found that the block was cracked. They are now installing a new short block. I know things happen, but this sucks. I hope that the fuel pump did not become too damaged under the bad lift pump and the dealer can get this short block in okay. I would much rather have had a long block!

I know how you feel. I had a 98 that puked all the oil out of the lifter cover(they said gasket was not installed right) one morning when I was going to work. Had been having problems in the past where oil pressure would drop to 0,ding dongs sound, but the oil pressure would start working again. So I figured this was happening again. Wrong. After I drove several miles I knew it was not the same thing. So they were going to put short block in-use the same head and turbo charger. They said if there are any problems it has warranty. But whos the one to be bring it back and have to deal with it-me. I told them I did not want it anymore. So the owner of the place LaGrange Dodge told me to go out in the lot and pick me one out. So I did and a deal was made that we both could live with. So I got 2000. 560000 on it now and (knock on wood)no problems. You know what happens when you brag about something. If they would of put new engine in I probably would have kept it. Son has 99 and he's got a little over 106000 and had no problems. It happens there not too much thats perfect.

Sounds mighty nice of your dealer to play ball with ya.

I'll have to remember then when my rig's time comes, say a decade or so? =)

How are things in Shiner Country?

That ole brewerys still there. I use to drink Shriner back in the ole days. Haven't had a drink since March 15 1998 when I ran off the rode in my 95 and hit a tree. Totaled it. Happened about 1. 5 mile from the house. Was out of work about 11mos and some days. Some other things happened but I made it through it. Some times all you have to do with them dealers is have a good talk with them.
