Competition Tire size and drivetrain questions related to pulling

Competition What's the hp capability of a 12V?

I know this won’t come as a surprise to some of you, as it’s hard to keep things quiet for to long, :D but now that it’s official I feel better discussing it.

Team BigBadDodge recently purchased a new sled pulling truck; you know the truck as “Still Smokin”. A deal was made with the fine folks at Watson Performance Engineering (WPE), bringing to the West Coast the very first real modified diesel sled pulling truck.

This is the first time I have driven anything this wild or for that matter anything with a hand throttle, drop box, and reverser so I am expecting the learning curve to be pretty big. I certainly don’t expect to be able to drive it overnight as well as Chris has done.

I am looking forward to showing the West Coast fans what these diesels are capable of, and I feel this is yet another step that we can take in promoting the great sport of diesel sled pulling. Bridging the gap between East and West spreading the diesel sled pulling infection across this great nation :-laf

I am open to any guidance, suggestions, or tips that you may have.

Regards,

BBD

Good to hear BBD! That's great that you will be able to spread the diesel love to the west coast and show them what a mod truck is all about! Oo.

Don't forget about Vegas either. You could put on a great show and hook it to a sled that truck is used to. ;)

Congrats, that is truly a beautifully done truck.

Scott, I knew you wouldnt be down long . I tried to quit but it doesnt happen some just cant do it. Goodluck buddy and see you in Indy your comin right

Awesome Scott! Can't wait to see it compete at Vegas this year. Are you going to Tulare at the end of March for a possible debut of the new rig??

Congrats Scott- Heard thru the grapevine a little while ago something was up :--) Hopefully someday I will be just like you and bring the first ever Mod Truck North to Canada! give me a few years though... . took me 3 years to get my current truck built... oh, not to take away from your post but I got those schedual 40 bends up here... $15 each! just took me ALOT of looking. Thanks for the info!

Good luck with the new truck!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guy's, schedule is still up in the air at this point, it depends on how much leave I can burn this year. I am certainly going to shoot for Vegas as for IRP I just drove through there Friday when I came back with the truck :D

Scott, yeah man you know these diesels are adicting like a drug. Maybe we should patent some sort of a patch that you wear on your arm :D

Ryan, glad you found the 90's better then a cost here, plus shipping would have been exspensive.

Nice buy Scott!

Nice ploy on the "selling big bad dodge because of financial reasons"  :D

Are you changing the name to big-bad-ford?

Haven't given any thought to a name as of yet, my original intentions were to put a late model Dodge body on it and call it BBD II, but after seeing it in person I realize that it will cost to much to do at this time WPE did such an awesome job installing this body that I can't bring myself to change it right away, mainly finacially :(

Thanks Dan, I may need some major help this year in the pits :D

"has a bunch of water/meth on it" no meth on this bad boy but Lot's-O- Water :D
